Imagine being a Texan with a highly accomplished kid who couldn’t get into UT. And then you see a bunch of non-citizen kids of foreign visa holders taking in-state spots.
The foreign parents come over on visas to take American jobs, and then their kids get treated as in-state students and take spots at UT from actual citizens. A multi-generational insult. What other country treats its citizens like this?

You clearly know nothing about the State of Texas, or you are just a noxious troll. That filthy hole in Austin is the flagship for Democrats. A&M is the flagship for Republicans. Somebody who would be happy at UT would not be happy in College Station and vice versa.

Rice is unrecognizable today. My father got his undergrad degree from Rice when it was just smart white nerds with buzz cuts, all on full scholarships. I got my MBA there in the 90's. Even then, Rice was filled with eccentric but politically balanced kids. Then sometime after 2000 some leftist discovered that WM Rice owned a few slaves in 1860. The whole school panicked, went hard left and uber woke and hid the Rice statue in a corner after it had been the centerpiece of the quad up to that point. Comrade DesRoches sure hates whitey and legacies, but he had no problem using his "privilege" to get his daughter into Rice. He's done a great job at absolutely minimizing the number of white kids on campus (Class of 2029 was 22% white). With just a little more effort, he can probably get the white student population down to the 10-15% range .

Name some. What countries can you move to as an American citizen and have your kids be given equal footing with local citizens in applying to a prestigious state university?

If you're an American in the UK who gets high marks on GCSE and A-level testing, you're getting into elite universities in the UK.
I imagine it's much the same on on the continent.
