Won't stop people on here from commenting. This is typical fake crap posted on Twitter to get attention.

Car plant is in Brunswick. Everyone is leaving Savannah for Brunswick. Mercedes, Hyundai, several heavy construction equipment companies etc.

I have a friend who runs an oyster company in the Bayou. They have workers that come from Mexico on 8 month work visas. They do an outstanding job of making sure everything is legal. Most come from one town in Mexico and the owners travel there often to recruit and secure their people. The manager has all of their paperwork and when the 8 months is up, they go back home for 4 months. If these guys can do it legally, I don't have any pity for ones trying to scam the system.

This is the way to go. Neal Boortz advocated for this system years ago before he retired.

Making the employers fully liable for the totality of the expenses incurred by the temporary workers, up to and including their return to their home countries (at the risk of MASSIVE penalties, should anyone go AWOL) just makes sense.

So why did they run? Just do what I do when I get asked to show my identification. Hand it over without hesitation and go about my day

What if some of them are libertarians?

How do you say "Am I being detained?" in Spanish?

Hmm. Brunswick is a weird way to spell I-16 between Savannah and Statesboro.

They are most likely here on Biden's Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Their asylum status was to expire in April 2025 but Biden extended it to Oct 2026. Trump moved it back to the April expiration date.

For the last time, I am not saying that they weren't illegal. I'm just pointing out that the tweet is lying about what the guy said. He said the exact opposite.

Send their CEO or Plant GM to prison AND fine them. Fines alone are not good enough.

I think the more irresponsible ones are the HR minions that like to tell you how it should be done but can’t tell the difference between their arse and a hole in the ground.

The HR minions ought to lose one of the precious certifications and be banned or suspended from the field of HR.

Hyundai absolutely should be fined, higher ups at facility should be facing fines and jail time.

ETA: even while it’s under construction it is still their site and they should have had better controls on who was on it.

Construction company should absolutely face harsh penalties as well and their upper level HR probably needs some jail time. One slipping through with fake documents is one thing but having 50 or more illegals is a whole different animal.

They all need a stiff fine and possible criminal charges for hiring illegal workers.

CEO, GM, and anyone in the hiring process that did not properly vet the immigration or legal status of the workers.
