....and 2) What the goal is, along with why they're doing this.
It's obvious to some here that he's trying to achieve a level-playing field, but many still either don't get it or don't care what the truth is.

Sure, but public opinion is always important. The public needs to understand what's going on. Otherwise the corrupt, bought-and-paid-for corporate media will try to manipulate the public 24/7 as they always do.

While I get what you are saying and normally would agree, in this case it's different. Negotiations is about playing from a position of strength and not revealing all of your cards/intentions. I think Trump is fine losing the public communication battle in the short term so that he can control negotiations and win in the end. He knows once all of this is finished that he will be seen favorably based on the victory.

I genuinely don't mean this as an insult to MAGA, as it's what I expected and what I knew I'd get when I voted
But it's quite possible that Trump doesn't know exactly what the goal looks like. I'm sure he has varying objectives he'd like to achieve of varying likelihood, and varying pitches for how to spin whichever ones we achieve/don't achieve.
So "here is my 12 point detailed plan for how it's going and where we're going" just doesn't sound like something that makes sense for Trump at all. I agree though, I'd at least like to know how he and his people see the endgame scenario(s).

Can't do that right now. That would be exposing your plans. As of now Trump went from a baseline tariff of 10% for all the fair traders, higher tariffs for other countries and 104% for China to as of 10 minutes ago 10% for everyone and 125% just for China.
I'm sure there will be several more iterations.
What's that quote about war, "In a 10 year war, nothing happens for almost a decade then everything happens in one week.", or something like that.
That's where we are with China right now.

It's not obvious when Bessent, Lutnick, and Navarro are all over the map, not mention we have 4 or 5 reasons for them now.
