It’s not underrepresented. Black people make up 13% of the population. Try again

US is over 70% white. You can do the math on the rest

Any discussion about race among mostly white people is racist. For everyone else it’s cool

Think about it.

If you love women and black people.

And you want to make them be productive and prosperous.

And don't want others to hate black people or women or think less of them.

Would you place a black woman in power and advertise that you only put her in place because they were black and female.

Why would you tell the world they hey, my SC nominee is being chosen for the color of her skin.

----------------------
Would you want your employer to tell the other employees you were being made supervisor not because you are the best for the job but because of some other reason?
----------------------

Now on the other hand if you hate this country. View women as just toys and are dumb.
Hate dark skinned people.

wouldn't you put less competent people in power and wouldn't you give them the back of your hand by telling everyone I picked you because you are a certain race?

Are you implying that you only represent whatever race or gender you are? Race nor gender should even matter.

That isn’t what was implied at all. It isn’t about representing only a segment of the population but bringing a different perspective on a topic.

An old white man wont view a particular topic with the same perspective as a younger black female.

Having varying views on the Supreme Court is a positive.

Let’s say this judge ends up being black and the next 8 appointed a black candidate is best for the job and is elected where there are 9 black judges now on the court. Every MFer in this board would be crying about white people being under represented.

But as you stated you are fine because they don’t just represent just their race but everyone right?

According to 2020 census data white people make up 57.8%, black people make up 12.1% and hispanics make up 18.7%. All other races make up just over 11%. He's too worried about appeasing race hustlers though to appoint to fix representation as he claims.

census.gov

Apparently appointing based on qualifications is out the window, too archaic in these new times.

The 14th amendment states that no person shall be denied equal protection under the law. Surely being passed over for a job due to gender(male) and race(white) is a violation.

I agree.

Who has standing to sue?

For us it's called discrimination, for the gov't they've exempted themselves calling it affirmative action.

It's not like there aren't qualified people of all races/background to pick from.

Very true about qualified people of all races. Unfortunately, Biden won't make a selection from any of them.

I disagree about 'all backgrounds.' Some have a background of bitterness along with an attitude of payback. Some have a hatred of the USA and should not be in any position of power.

At any rate, experience tells us that being qualified isn't really a determining factor in a leftist's decision making, so.....
