That's obvious. You probably consider personally delivering a hand engraved tablet across the country to be a fine substitute for e-mail.

Can you not send an email using a mobile provider?

Is there a part of the internet you cannot access using a mobile provider?

He's saying the unintended consequences of all overreaching regulation outweigh the perceived benefits, over and over again.

It was pretty clear.

The end of net neutrality will effectively give the keys to these websites to companies like Comcast and AT&T. If they don't like what your website is saying then it simply won't be available to their customers.

Say what you want about google or reddit censoring certain viewpoints. Allowing ISPs to do it will be an order of magnitude worse.

And yes I 100% believe Liberals would shut down Conservative sites. I don't have much in common with Liberals.

Funny that.

Yeah, I’m sure the people of 1794 could comprehend an economic issue overlying with a free speech platform they could have never possibly fathomed.

But hey if a genius like you ShortyRob were around in that time, you could have seen it coming and understood what it meant for society as a whole. You’re obviously a fricking genius.

Unfortunately, these morons think THIS business endeavor operates in some parallel universe were economic principles don't apply and one could only have an opinion on it on the last few years.

If you'd given me this as a case study in 1989, I'd have given the SAME answers

These tards think they've got something new

No it’s not, because he’s dumb enough to suggest that people hundreds of years ago would know what to do with the internet. They couldn’t fathom it and it would blow their minds.

So what other negatives are there?

All sites that do not either pay massive extortion to both search engines and ISP's will become impossible to find and will not load. ISP's will have the power to completely silence any site that puts forward content they don't like. Considering we've already seen Google suppressing search results for news stories showing the Hillary campaign in a negative light, what's to stop Googlefiber from simply deciding that right wing news sites won't load? What's to stop AOL Time-Warner from doing the same?

These ISP's also own TV Stations and news media. Comcast owns Universal and NBC. Time Warner owns CNN, TBS, Hulu, and HBO. What's to stop Comcast and Time Warner (who together make up half of all broadband customers) from throttling all sites offering competing opinions from CNN and MSNBC? They could simply deny customers access to Drudge and Tigerdroppings.

But wait, the free market will save the alt right, right? Well, most of those customers live in markets with no more than 2 broadband providers. The various providers simply carve out geographic monopolies and collude to keep to each other's turf as they gradually consolidate over time.

It's bad enough that search engines are making opposing views difficult to find. Giving ISP's this power will make opposing views go away COMPLETELY!

Jesus fricking christ people.

The Time Warner that owns CNN IS NOT A GODDAMN ISP. It's a media company.

Time Warner Cable was absorbed by Charter to form Spectrum.

SEPARATE GODDAMN COMPANIES.

Jesus. How many times do I have to explain this to you fricking idiots?

This is why an honest discussion on this subject is impossible. You fricking idiots don't even know the basics.
