Trump repeatedly said that the wealth from the oil would go to the Venezuelan people. They will have a prosperous country from this.

TBF we didn’t try and take their oil. We tried to “nation build.” If we actually took their oil, it wouldn’t have been such a disaster.

When we "took" their oil, their country was much better off. Same with Iran. It was the nationalizing of Western assets and going full dictator that ruined these countries

To clarify some of these comparisons, Afghanistan doesn’t have any meaningful oil.
