Such an ill-informed statement. Even if it were true, it doesn't negate the right. It had been litigated for years and the limits defined. Thankfully with trump appointing justices it won't be changing in the next generation or two.

How many of the US Military do you think would fire on their countrymen?

Pretty easy to tell who has never studied history in this thread

Gun owners don't have the balls to defend themselves? Melt Libtard. Your kind would be the first to go.

They have very strict gun laws and no one is getting shot down there.

I don’t think he has even studied the news over the past 20 years.
Muhammad and Malvo put DC and the beltway into terror with a sedan and a hunting rifle.
The Tsarniev brothers got Boston under lockdown with some pressure cookers.
If an insurgent campaign took place in this country due to the military turning on its people, th military might win but the insurgents will use every dirty trick in the book they break them psychologically.
Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan know all about insurgent war. And not all of them would be on the military’s side this time around.

In the case of foreigners, documentation that proves you have legal status (specifically a permanent resident visa)
That's racist
Edited to address stupid comment: the government would not nuke anybody. And they would also not destroy the entire infrastructure of this country or kill their tax base in mass so that argument is retarded.

Do you think our gov't is scared of a bunch of people with guns? They aren't. The gov't has bigger guns, more guns, and well trained people to use them.
So yeah, it's a bit difficult when the "enemy" vastly outnumbers the "military force," blends in with the populace and walks freely among the would-be enforcers of the king's will.
You're right. It wouldn't even be close, but you picked the wrong winner.

You don’t fight the people with the guns
You force them to defend the ones they love
When they are too preoccupied defending their wives, kids, parents etc
They can’t be out killing the population
Yea, they have nothing to be scared of from 300,000,000 armed citizens that will not be put in chains.

I ask you this: Given the choice, and you DO have the choice, would you rather the government fear its citizens, or the citizens fear their government? I choose the former.

and well trained people to use them.
Wanna know what else? Some service men would join us.
Wanna know what else? That fire power that we have would get us into reserve and guard armories all around the country to access what is there.
Wanna know what else? All the really big weapons the gov't has would be useless in the type of door to door war they would have to fight.
and so "Do you think our gov't is scared of a bunch of people with guns?" YES the few leaders that would consider such actions are as aware of the situation as the Japs were back during WWII when the populace had far fewer and less specialized guns as we have today.

Once the currently serving military decides which side they are going to be on the picture begins to come into focus.
This could not happen if us veterans only had baseball bats and pitchforks to fight with.

Given all the beheadings over there, I think they need common sense machete regulations more than gun control.

Fallacious reasoning, bw. The POTUS would have to Nationalize the National Guard in order for them to fight on our Land, unless the Governor of each State okayed that fight. Take a good look at the Red on that Map; what Governor would commit that suicidal act?
And Civil/Local LE is the next step. Same there. No Sheriff would order Deputies to fire on PATRIOTIC Americans...when those folk are His own families and friends.
Finally, God forbid the Governor and Sheriffs did go insane and did so, HOW will they protect their own family, while they are out marauding other people's family?
Bottom line. An armed Populous is an existential threat to any form of civilized society or government. Those arms FORCE Politicos to ultimately do what they are paid to do...imagine, present and promote just Law. With the hope being that the (armed) Populous will have enough sanity to recognize and acquiesce to said Laws. Otherwise, it's a streetfight...with machetes, sticks or whatever. It's the People's choice.

It’s amaizing how these people forget about what happened (very much still happening) in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Please tell me Brian what developed, high tech military power did we face in Afghanistan that dragged us into a 10+ year trillion dollar war responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of American Lives.
