Related to the construction of the data centers, correct?
This is temporary and not recurring sales tax revenue, correct?

Hopefully they use it to invest in SpaceX stock so that they aren’t on the street when the robots/AI take their jobs.

I couldn't give a shite less about the money.
What I do care about is that these things are massive, ugly-arse eye sores in communities, bad for the environment and natural, ecosystems, and the majority of them will likely be obsolete within a decade. Oh yeah, and the fact that these things facilitate humanity's spiral into an AI-controlled dystopia where we are mostly job-less and get a monthly government stipend to live.

The teachers also got $8500 in December. So a certified teacher could make at least $100,000. They are told this could last 8 years. It may be temporary, but you can put away a lot of that money for retirement. And if they are close to retirement, these years will be used to base their retirement income for their future. They will be able to attract the best teachers to an impoverished area. The teachers don’t have to live there. It is easy driving distance from Monroe. The local businesses will benefit from the 7000 workers that are there all the way to Monroe.

Industries in Lake Charles get water from the Sabine River Authority with a canal 30 or so miles long. Water is no issue in that neck of the woods especially with the Mississippi River nearby. In your case it has been a several year local drought upstream, your geological dam to keep saltwater out of the aquifer is of no consequence.
FWIW, Exxon/Sabic played your area for a fool. That plant was always going to be there, but they negotiated with Louisiana for tax abatement to get a better deal with Corpus area. That plant is much closer to the source of NGL's feedstock than Baton Rouge. I laughed at an article in The Hayride written by a clueless fellow who thought it was about natural gas not NGLs being required. Dumbass never knew the difference between dry and wet natural gas. Probably doesn't know the difference between a dry fart and a wet one either.

Cliffs version... Certified teachers get $50,000 bonus and everyone else gets $17,000 bonus from Meta taxes. The data center isn't even completed.
Why are the teachers getting such a big bonus?
Why are sales tax bonanzas being spent and not helping the school system to pay off debt, do capital projects, or lower taxes for residents?

Property taxes in LA are already very low. I don't know what school debt in Richland Parish is and if it was paid off. This is a great way to attract certified teachers

They get a portion of sales tax collected at the end of the school year.

It’s crazy that compensation for teachers is not set and that the teachers are subject to economic swings.

I found out today how much AI and data centers are used for oil and gas with supply chain tracking billions of data points constantly. I had investigated buying a business several years ago. It would have required rental of totes to ship offshore. Rental totes had RFID chips in them to track their locations. Now that all makes sense.
