I wish he would include hand guns in that though... The vast majority of gun crime occurs via hand guns but it would be a great start.
So, forgive us if we don't really care about a banner's position on the subject.

Meant the elevated background checks
I'm sure the elevated checks are across the board - I mean, we're not going to make a NICS-AR15 version. That would be extra looney.

what are elevated background checks? If someone has been reported as mentally unstable more background checks aren't going to uncover that.

The amount of control, training, oversight, rules, etc that are imposed in the military is incredible.
This is a commanding general shooting his pistol qualification lmao. Just because you are in the military doesn't mean you are taught properly how to shoot.

Why are there any laws at all if criminals ignore them anyway?
And now everyone knows you're a moron.
Scholars have settled this, ages ago.
Congrats.

War on drugs was selectively enforced and put people in jail for possession of weed. A bit different

Im ok with age increase as long as all Military personnel under the age of 21 get an exception
Posted on 2/26/18 at 2:18 pm to civiltiger07
Depends on the scope of the check. You should have to demonstrate suitability... Not lack of suitability. Kind of like a clearance.

Military folks do go through much more rigor background check wise so maybe so

The President you worship seems to care in this case.

Sadly, with the mid terms coming up I doubt this can happen.
i wish he'd do the same thing that i wish he'd do with immigration.
just enforce the laws on the books. if laws, regulations, and safety procedures written in black and white had been followed this dude would not have gotten a gun to begin with.
but instead, we broke and bent rules because Cruz was a minority. i get that minorities have less of a fair shake in this world. that sucks. lowering the bar because of that cost this world 17 lives and did Cruz no favors along the way.
enforce the Goddamn rules and this doesn't happen.

Can you please point to the areas where background checks are not employed?

What's an elevated background check?
Can we put some restrictions and hurdles on other rights? Voting perhaps?

Notice how countries with stricter gun laws dont have nearly the amount of illegal guns in circulation either?
That's true, look at cities like Chicago...

How many gun crimes do you think are committed by someone who purchased a gun legally?
Posted on 2/26/18 at 2:42 pm to roadGator
A requirement to demonstrate suitability for the responsibility. Like a clearance
Posted on 2/26/18 at 2:48 pm to Tigerdev
If you were serious about stopping handgun deaths you'd support stop and frisk in inner cities. Majority of handguns in Chicago are illegal.

And you have proof that the war on guns will be prosecuted differently?

Kind of a silly question.
