It seems that every black person I have talked to about politics over the last year or so has had conservative views.
Granted, that's a select group - mostly military vets.
If you look at Democrat policies, they will actually hurt a significant portion of black people first.
Open immigration is the first such policy that comes to mind.

I'm happy for black conservatives. I know the shadows have probably been cold for some time. In the military, I ran across black conservatives all the time, but many were circumspect for fear of the censure from family or friends.
But, as a regular white dude observing this happen in real time as well, this moment, #Blexit - whatever you want to call it, feels more substantial than such movements in the past. Whether it means more blacks stay home or actively vote Trump remains to be seen, of course, but this shift feels more one of substance than of style.
This is a lot of what it is. For a black person to actively support a Republican is to be seen as a Coon, an Uncle Tom, a race traitor, etc. I had family disown me over my views. Like literally will not speak to me anymore.
I will say the one highlight was during the 2016 campaign, when I openly supported Trump, a family member told me that my dead grandmother was turning flips in her grave about me supporting a republican, especially Trump. Thankfully, my cousin came to my defense and cussed her out, and told her my grandmother is smiling down on me from heaven for using my own mind to form my own decisions, and to stand for those despite how others might feel.

So no one in the family knows that black folks were almost all Republican until the Great Depression?

If trump wants to really make the Democrats sweat over the black vote. He should tweet his disgust of the Breonna Taylor situation and call for a federal investigation.
I have no issue with this.

I've been trying to educate two coworkers without being overbearing or trying to change their mind, just showing them how I see things and why.
I think they may be coming around.

Well look here, we got us a person who thinks he knows how all black people think, nothing racist about that!

Seems like the real wokeness is what you just described. A black friend and former coworker of mine in O&G and is doing the same thing on FB. Several in the black community are waking up to the reality of the Democrat Party.

Hopefully those 3 will convert many more. Thanks for starting the New Green Deal education ball rolling.

I've seen a lot of black folks in O&G industry making good money. They'd be stupid to side with the AOCs of the world. Thankfully I dont think anyone needs to tell them that. Good work.

Slow and steady wins the race. The awakening of black people to the Democrat lies is a painful process, much akin to finding out Santa clause isn’t real. Being told everything you were taught to believe in, is wrong or false.

The guy in this thread that thinks all black people should think a certain way (that's you) should probably stfu.

Black people are starting to become politically aware. And the ones that are, are starting to leave the Democrat plantation
It does seem like the Dem stranglehold is breaking somewhat. It's strange to see. I hope it translates to a shift in voting patterns because our country desperately needs it.
