No... A libertarian with myopic views on what is a "tax," and being militantly anti-tax and Mr. Libertarian, is distorting his view that this is not a "tax increase" and is only being utilized to force negotiation quickly and negotiate better trade deals that ultimately will benefit this country and its legal citizens significantly more than bratty libertarian douche bags like Rand and Massie stomping their feet and crying as "principled," "Republicans," and spinning these tariffs as a "tax increase."

So you are criticizing him for being consistent and not forsaking his convictions? His opinions on taxes and tariff's have been the same since he came into office.

And there you have it... Here is one of this board's worst offending leftard liberal Democrat pussies, coming here to defend Rand.

He is weak like so many other Republican senators who only care about reelection
Posted on 4/9/25 at 9:14 am to GatorOnAnIsland
Rand is against funding the border wall, against funding border security, and against fair trade deals in favor of Americans. He's more closely aligned with Democrats than he is with MAGA.

It makes no sense that guys on here are going "Rand is weak because he won't trash his lifetime of deeply-held belief and go in the complete opposite direction!"
If you want to purge him for the new right because he doesn't agree with the strategy most of this board would have rabidly opposed 5-10 years ago, fine. But he's not weak because of that.

Always watch what they do, not what they tell you

He is literally doing the opposite of "All hat and no cattle". Bending the knee to a policy he has always been against would have been the weak move. I can disagree with him (which I kind of do here) and still respect that he stands by his convictions and doesn't kiss Trumps butt just to look good.
Posted on 4/9/25 at 9:27 am to OGtigerfan87
His convictions are fine but you fanboys eat it up just as much as we support Trump.

No he's not. He's extremely principled, and he is showing strength in standing by them right now. Do I agree with him? Absolutely not, but that doesn't mean I don't respect him for his position. He's probably the only one doing so out of actual principle rather than fake showmanship.

Who are fanboys of who? I support Trump and voted for him 3 times. I also respect Rand Paul even if I don't agree with him. Your thinking or lack thereof is childish.

at the heart of the dispute with the neighbor (who was 5'6" and 140 lbs. 59 years old and retired) was that for 10 years rand who cuts his own grass on a riding lawn mower would blow his his clippings out of his mower into the neighbors yard. after 10 years of biotching about it the neighbor just snapped.
what a typical libertarian di*k move. it's like walking your dog and intentionally letting it poop in somebody else's front yard.

These tariffs are illegal.

Trump is big govt, Rand is small govt. What's hard to understand?

Thomas Jefferson was a librarian, so was William Leggett, and Grover Cleveland. Libtardians made this country great.

Last I checked, Trump was the parasite begging for libertarian votes.
Posted on 4/9/25 at 9:49 am to GBPackTigers
I've seen Ron Wyden oppose war and civil liberties breaches by Obama and co.
