I never thought I would say this

I am a huge JD Vance fan. Right now a JD Vance/Marco Rubio ticket would be friggin' fire for 28 (obviously my opinion but if you have a different opinion then that's perfectly ok to disagree without turning this thread into a shitshow sling fest)
Rubio keeps impressing me every single day. I always liked the guy but in the back of my head I could never really trust what he was saying. Now, I feel like he is the adult in the room whenever he goes on interviews, etc. and I actually trust everything he says.
He has really surprised the hell out of me.
I love how he just makes Democrats and Mainstream Media reporters look dumb as shite and from what I have heard and read many times, the international leaders love the guy.. and JD Vance.

Why would Rubio play second fiddle to Vance?

so he can be the actual President for 8 years after Vance.

Riding the wave to Prez after 8yrs of Vance
Something that a certain someone you might know should have done

Rubio and Vance are the future. Rubio has impressed me a lot

Me, too. He seemed ensconced with the neocons as a Senator, but I think he's been pitch perfect as the SOS. Hell, if I end up having a 100% confidence level regarding him I could even see him being President. I just don't want to risk having another Pence situation.

I told someone today that I never dreamed Kash and Bongino would fold like cowards and Rubio would be loyal to the MAGA agenda

quote:Rubio recognizes that the race for President begins after the mid-terms. Watch. If he resigns in the six months after mid-terms, he's running. Vance will be running as the front runner, but in terms of who has his finger on the pulse of foreign affairs and absolute control over the state department, Rubio is the man, and he's going to pull support away from JD with a better, longer Senate record, plus, he's carried water for Trump for years longer than JD, and if he can keep the plates of world unrest spinning long enough to take them down one by one without breaking one in the process, then he'll have near-presidential experience on the global stage that JD will only be a mouthpiece for as VP.
Why would Rubio play second fiddle to Vance?
Rubio would have a lot of supporters who might believe he's playing a part in order to stay close to Trump and hope that his actions means the control of the MAGA faction of the Republican party passes to him, and not to JD. Then the RINOs can work on Rubio. He's enough of a political chameleon to change his positions and be 'flexible' where maybe Trump isn't and JD may be too married to populism to be flexible.
Dems losing the presidency and Senate has opened up lots of possibilities. Too bad Republicans are, as expected, completely wasting their opportunity to pass meaningful societal and financial legislation.

I like this new Rubio, but his whole body of work concerns me. I hope it's not just a case of him playing a part for personal ambitions.
He's been in the game long enough to know how to play to the MAGA base. Not necessarily an accusation, just a potential concern if he's fully aligned, with the America 1st agenda were he ever to become president.
However, I wouldn't hate 8 years of Vance & then 8 years of Rubio. We could do much worse.

Rubio is a politician, first and foremost. He aligned himself with globalists like McCain and Graham earlier - remember the Gang of Eight Amnesty bill?
Right now, he is very pro Trump. He has been the best version of Marco Rubio. He also sees the writing on the wall and knows that somebody is going to have to step up to replace Donald Trump in 3 years, and he can't be a go along to get along kinda guy and expect to do well in the primaries in 2028.

So did his tea party supporters.
When the direction of the wind changes, Rubio will blow right with it.

There’s a zero percent chance Republicans hold the presidency that long. Not saying I’m against it, but that’s not how this works.

A politician would never do that....

Rubio made a fool of Abrego Garcia's daddy yesterday
Chris van Hollen - ‘I regret voting for you’
Rubio - “Your regret for voting for me confirms I’m doing a good job,”
“We deported gang members — including the one you had a margarita with,”
“That guy is a human trafficker, that guy is a gang member,"

Now insert Bondi keeps impressing me every single day. Then insert Kash keeps impressing me every single day, and finally insert Bongino keeps impressing me every single day.
It's just a matter of time before Marco Rubio disappoints this board and hurts it's feelings just like all the others have. These are all politicians and in the case of Dan Bongino, a celebrity. And when it comes time to nut up, they'll all comport themselves as such.
The day Marco Rubio sits down with FOX News and tells us all how necessary it is to bomb Iran on Israel's behalf, will be the day this board stops lying to itself. I take that back. No it won't.

No way this country goes on a 20 yr run of republican presidents. The media still has too much control over too many people’s brains.
