Stop for a quick bite at a random Taco Bell in Alabama last week. Most of the workers seemed to have a good work ethic and they acted professional. The people eating inside pretty much all looked like hard working blue collar people that are enjoying a well deserved break and lunch.

It used to be a lot better. People today are fat slobs, ill-mannered and generally dumb.

Go back 40 years and people in the south were a lot higher quality in general. Most of the stereotypes you hear about the south (hospitality, strong family ties, conservative values, etc.) are no longer true. The younger generations are just like people everywhere else. Sad!

The girls in the South are much better in every way. Texas has more attractive women than any state. To each his own, though. Hopefully, you won't let them damnyankees corrupt you.

Glad to see you're an opponent of slavery reparations.

I spent about 8 hours last week driving through rural Florida and Alabama. Have to disagree with you. The poverty and lack of pride in the appearance of homes and entire towns was amazing.

In the Deep South, you can't understand the drive thru workers at fast food.
Dixie has the nicest people in America for sure.

From an economic perspective, this is simply false.

No success in the world can compensate for failure in the home. The backbone of America, was once predicated upon that principle.

I stopped at the Hardy's at exit 164 just South of Montgomery on I65 last Friday. Could not ask for a worse representation of fast food workers. Our 20 minute experience there, which should have been 10 minutes, could be the script of a comedy sketch.

But yeah, I go home, and of course I love the weather and food, and in New Orleans the architecture, but the world feels so small down there and I start itching to leave before long.

Sounds to me like you are in your safe space. I don't think Louisiana will miss you.

Jesus Christ, it's 2017.

When they said the Yanks are coming, the Yanks are coming - over there - over there - a CENTURY ago...

Were they just talking about Northeasterners?

Oxford English Dictionary:

Yankee: A person who lives in or is from the USA.

Since the war ended and every state became part of the USA again...unless some people don't think they live in the USA...everyone is a Yankee.

There isn't a single poster on this board who was born in 1860 or before. Not a single one. Those are the only people who can claim they aren't a Yankee - during those few secession years.

Down south Yanks are northerners. When we call someone a Yankee, the are from a state above the M.D. line. You can't live your life going by a dictionaries in this political climate. Wake up and do as the Romans do baw, you are in Rome on this board.
Oh, also. Try Wikipedia from time to time. You will seem more educated.
