Yes he did and he was all about sending money to Ukraine. He did nothing about the border and he lied about Jan6 video. He was known as 'pelosi light'.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy is backtracking on his plan to remove Ukraine aid from a massive military spending bill as Republicans scramble to find a way forward on funding the government.

House narrowly clears hard-right Pentagon funding bill after Ukraine aid carve-out

The House also approved the separate $300 million tranche of Ukraine funding after Republicans removed it from the defense bill.

- Oct 26 2022
After House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested last week that Republicans might pull back funding for Ukraine next year if they take the majority, the GOP leader has worked behind the scenes to reassure national security leaders in his conference that he wasn’t planning to abandon Ukraine aid and was just calling for greater oversight of any federal dollars, sources told CNN.

Yep

The Republican Party is a disaster and it starts with the fact that most of them are actually Democrats, and both parties are all aboard for MIC funding, Big Tech, illegal spying and all sorts of stuff that puts our nation on a path to complete destruction. And neither party cares about our border at all.

Despite this we still have tons of people that are 'blue no matter who' and others that will make endless excuses for Republicans no matter how many times they are betrayed.

a new speaker would be a great litmus test to find out if you are given information that causes you to do a complete 180 on your previous positions.

No one will do any different.

Its the political reality we have to deal with. The best you can hope for with these margins are deals and concessions.

Democrats have made no deals and no concessions.

My brain went straight to Joe McCarthy and I thought this would be a good thread.

We're fricked on the Speaker situation. Dems aren't going to allow anyone they can't flip.

Because there is no leadership, at all.

The party is just several factions trying to outdo each other.

Gerrymandering districts keeps the balance of power close which benefits the Dems and RINOS.

This country, left and right are primarily centrists.

I would love a Libertarian revolution, but realize it is impossible here. Same with Progressivism and MAGA.

These are secondary ideologies, not primary political movements that will make headway in our system. The best we can hope for is influence.

The revolving chair of speakers is just one more way we shoot ourselves in the foot. We keep starting over and over and over again.

McCarthy was a cuck, but he was also an "elite" fundraiser. He grew the GOP numbers in the House. This is where the difference will be felt. Otherwise I agree.

McCarthy also had clout.

The "pound of flesh" politics is another reason I hate populism.

You sure do like to concede to the left.

They are the vastly more powerful side today. They hold the Senate and Presidency, and the House is razor thin for the GOP (with a splinter party who will vote with DEMs to throw chaos into the process if they aren't given everything they want)

It's fair to say Johnson is no better than McCarthy and is a massive failure.

It's retarded to pretend that McCarthy wasn't as much of a failure.

Yep, with a tiny majority in the house, the speaker doesnt have a lot of push.

Someone who fits y'alls definition of "not a failure" doesnt exist in this context.

Trump agreed to concessions on his spending bills. But you people hold others to different standards.

He has only 2 choices

1. Negotiate (which will involve some concessions)

2. Shut down the government (which will hurt the GOP)

Anything else is hopium-infused spin by Patriots.
