It’s amazing to me the number of people who are otherwise in favor of accountability freaking out over this.

It’s almost like they’re afraid their bosses may take a hint and start doing the same thing. Then where would they be?

I get tired of this argument that such and such is only 1-2% of the budget and won’t make a big dent so we shouldn’t cut it.

If you cut waste, fraud, and useless workers in every program and agency, all those small percentages add up to a big percentage

Same story over here. My wife “retired” after our first born. We were making about 50k as a family at the time. 20 years and 3 kids later, we are doing more than fine.

People who bitch about being micromanaged during their entire career job to job just can’t find a mirror.

That was 30 years and 3 more kids ago. It's amazing how people can be motivated.

Same. 37 years and four kids ago. We got it done.

This is a ridiculous answer from two points.

1. The only other option is to do nothing, meaning you support waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government.

2. This is the ridiculously disingenuous narrative of implying that waste, fraud and abuse is only worth addressing if any single instance of it meets some unnamed amount. They know the majority of waste, fraud and abuse is likely to be akin to "death by a thousand cuts", so they seek to downplay any individual instance by never committing to an amount of how much waste, fraud and abuse is too much (a constantly moving goal post).

This may be the political brochure answer, but in reality it’s just a vendetta against anyone you think is Liberal.

In my years of practice ownership, I was fortunate to have hired two employees with incredible work ethic. One was a Vietnamese immigrant and the other one a Russian.

They worked so hard that they shamed the others into working harder than they would normally.

My guess is that you are not that person at the place that you work.

The front line workers at these agencies that you are so happy got fired had nothing to do with these, moron.

Well...they have about an 85% democrat voting record so yeah...they had plenty to do with it.

The "size" of the government is the same as 1960. It's the spending that's the issue. Until those habits are changed this means nothing.

Your statement about the size of government being the same is wrong as there are roughly 400k more federal workers today as compared to 1960. Actually about 22% more employees than 1960.

The federal government has grown in terms of spending, regulatory scope, and entitlement programs. The number of federal employees has not grown at the same rate as spending and that is due automation and outsourcing of government roles, but the government is bigger in every measure.

Thats my point. The employees are not the problem. It's the people making budget decisions that are the issue.

That’s fine but you can’t say the size from the standpoint of number employees is the same as 1960 as it isn’t. Regardless, the number of employees on hand should support the required work, which with automation and outsourcing, it does not sound like it does.

It's relatively close especially considering how the size of the populous has doubled

So spending less money while decreasing the bureaucracies that inhibit real economic growth and forcing people to get real jobs that produce real returns won't help the debt? Gotcha.

It's cute the left screaming about the debt all of a sudden while they sat sipping their latte's watching MSDNC or couch comfy with the View as pedo joe and heels up gave billions to Ukraine, allowed billions if not trillions more money get created to grease their world wide grift, growing a giant government bureaucracy, etc. You people have no leg to stand on in this. Actually, just sit this one out.
