Absolutely not. I blame China first, liberals second, never Trumpers third, Trumps advisers fourth, then the President.
Ether way, Trump is going to get 100% the blame for the coming economic collapse.

Again, it’s the epitome of partisanship to completely absolve Trump from any blame on this.

It's not partisanship. It's logic. What you want is for Trump to do everything YOU want him to do WHEN you want him to do it.

the Left is going to pin the horrific repercussions on him anyway. And that’s my point.

The Left will always do that. So, you're blaming Trump for kowtowing to the left? Really? The most blatantly combative to the left President in our history and you're accusing him of folding?

So, on March 15 he should have come out and said 'THIS IS A HOAX. STAY OPEN. NO ONE WILL DIE'. Is that what he should have done?

We know other countries that took a different path, so why pretend he only had one option?

No, according to what this nation was originally intended to be (federalist), trump did exactly what was right.

To suggest that trump should have applied an outline for the entire country is dumb. Every state, and every city was impacted differently.

Do you know what federalism is?

I know that state Governors routinely usurp Federal laws and do what they want. But if the Federal government wants to demand a certain action in a pandemic, they are powerless?
Either way, I’m not talking about Trump passing laws or forcing actions on states, I’m talking about what Trump said and encouraged.

Based on what?

How did trump cause the collapse?

Did he force the cities to shut down?

Did he make China release the virus then lie and punish anyone who spoke about it in an attempt to keep it hidden for as long as possible?

Did he tell governors to shut down their states?

What about companies?

Nope. I’m saying he’s going to be saddled with the coming economic collapse, and it would have been better had he not come out and encouraged the initial 14 day shut in, subsequent ones, and signed two horrible stimulus Bills.

If you wish to abide by what federalism truly is, then yes. The federal government can’t logically provide guidelines for their entire country. Every part of this country is/was affected differently.

So now trumps rhetoric caused the economy to collapse...

Not a week ago it was that trumps rhetoric was going to kill people be he wasn’t taking the virus seriously enough.

This.

The narrative that this was all Trump's doing is bizarre. He couldn't shut us down any more than he can open us back up.

Not really sure how we so quickly lose sight of what's right in front of our faces.

Because the media and Left will blame it on him. That’s how.

Trump openly called for the economy to be open by Easter, and the liberals all said he was being irresponsible and not treating it seriously enough. They then kept their local governments closed off.

Well anyone who actually takes this as being trumps fault is an idiot who’s opinions are worth less than used toilet paper.

They can say they are following the federal guidelines Trump put out.

No, the shut down did, which he compliantly went along with under bad advice.

This isn’t my narrative. This is a straw man that has been mysteriously woven into my OP.

On a pure theoretical perspective, perhaps.

I just can't possibly envision the lone voice in the wilderness successful alternative here, in a real world logistical sense.

I mean, that was a given.

Sounds like you wanted him to order that states shouldn't have been allowed to shut down.
