I just saw on Fox a Congressman explaining why Ukraine was not given those Mig jets.

What it really comes down too is the Pols was going to give Ukraine the Migs they fly in the Polish Air Force. The problem is that if they do it then that takes those jets out of service and Poland will need to replace them which is where we come in. They need the US to backfill the loss of the Migs with some of our older tech. The Congressman mentioned F-14, 16, and A-10’s.

So what? Give the Ukrainians the damn old MIGs, and give the Poles some fighter jets that actually work in today’s military theatre. We might need the Polish if Putin decides to attack NATO.

There are no F-14's in the boneyards, Cheney had them destroyed, ostensibly to keep Iran from getting spares for their own Tomcats, but some suspect he did it to spite Grumman, whom he had a beef with at the time.
And it's actually against the law to export A-10's. We don't want anyone getting the gun technology. Unless it's changed since then, this was put into law all the way back in the 80's.

This is not the reason.
There are three NATO countries that have Mig airplane.
These planes were going to ship to Ukraine.
EU already allocated some money to buy new planes to compensate the three countries.
The transferring of the planes stopped because these NATO countries realized the situation for Russia army was not as bad as they previously thought.
They thought Russian armies are stalled in the Kyiv. Ukraine is claiming 1000+ Russian soldiers are killed each day.
later when they realized Russian intention was using
Kyiv as decoy and Ukraine armies encircled in the east.
Ukraine will lose the war sooner or later.

BTW F-14s haven't been in service for quite a while.
