First time I ever met a girl from the Northeast was during MOS school, when I was in the Marines. This was before everyone had cell phones and you had to use payphones around the school or the call center. I was talking on the payphone one evening to my Mom and I heard this coming from behind me:
"YO, Yo you bout done with de phone Yo".
I was like, I'm about to light this dude up and let him know I'll be done when I'm done. I turn around in a huff and see a 5'3" dark hair girl giving me the stink eye. I was like sorry thought you were a dude. She was like "Yo how bout dat phone though". I was like I'll be done in a minute.
I don't know how any man can find that Jersey/Brooklyn accent appealing. Same goes with the Boston accent. Just sounds horrible on a woman.
