re: I just don't understand why in the 50s and 60s these shootings were extremely rare.

Back when divorce was rare, and feminism hadn't destroyed marriage.
America was 90% Caucasian/Christian.
The Left tells me all of the above conditions were "the bad old days" yet we didn't create mass-murdering spree-killers by the dozens every year.
Kids could play in their neighborhoods without constant supervision because the society was so high-trust and people were so decent.
What happened?
At the risk of being called a nut job, have you noticed almost all of the shooters are atheists, or nut job Christians? But Christians wuld not commit such atrocities with the prospect of being killed and dammed to everlasting hell all in one fell swoop. The loss of faith has a lot to do with it, along with the loosening of the moral fabric of the people.

When was the AR-15 developed?

For all the benefits that social media & 24/7 news provide, I think they absolutely distort and desensitize reality. Sure, we’re more connected and informed than ever but how genuine is that?
I don’t think humans are designed to process that amount of information efficiently.

You do realize .223, which is all an AR is, has been around since the 60s?
What is the difference in a .223 semi auto deer rifle and an AR15? Care to tell us?

Feds took over the schools. Poisoned the kids minds and then made them gun free zones.

Does this year fall within the "50's and 60's" as mentioned by the OP?
Yes or no?

What does this have to do with your fail in this thread

Nah...30-06 and .30-30 were pretty popular back then and readily available. Why didn't people just use those to pull off mass shootings?
The Austin tower shooter used a Remington 700 chambered in .6mm in 1962.
Point is, there was always an option for someone who wanted to pull this off to do so. Nothing about AR15s has changed that so stop blaming firearms.

You think kids back then didn't have access to their dads rifles?
You also didn't answer my question of what the difference is in a .223 deer rifle vs an AR15.

There are more guns now and the rate of violence is actually less.

I'm not talking about just crime rates. Divorce, family values, abortion, drug addiction, etc all plays a role in tearing families apart and that in turn makes the country weaker.

No I am not. It's a legit question since you are blaming the AR15 as the boogeyman just like every other idiot does.
You also ignored my other question about do you not think kids in the 60s had access to their dads rifles.
Why are you ignoring points of my counterargument? Is it because you know your argument is based on lies and/or bullshite? Nah...couldn't be that.

the 50s and 60s were the 1990s?
The explosion in school shootings didn't occur until after Columbine in 1996.
Besides, most of the weapons used in school shootings are simple pistols, shotguns, and hunting rifles that were even more readily available in 1960 than they are now.

Is a .223 a particularly mean round compared to say... a 30.06?
