Initially, when I heard Noem didn’t sign the bill stating biological males couldn’t compete in women’s sports in her state, I was disappointed and felt she made a mistake. After listening to her reasoning, I think she might be doing the right thing.
Bongino, who I usually agree with, thinks she’s making a mistake.
Her basic reasoning is that the bill, written in its current state is assured to lose in court. And if there is an extended court fight, the women’s sports programs would remain in legal limbo.
She wants them to rewrite to bill to resemble the one In Tennessee and she will sign it.
Listen to her interview If interested.

So? They keep competing as is. Are Mississippi teams in limbo? Is the ncaa going to do anything to them? She caved for $.

So the legislature needs to act and call her bluff. She may be acting in an honest manner. That being said, I have my doubts.

The legislature needs to step up.

Then again, in Louisiana, our legislature basically got treated like a bitch by Governor Gooney.

Sadly, RINOs exist everywhere so I have low expectations concerning the legislature coming through and actually representing the good people their state.

She was always a fake. Revolver.news had an expose about how she is one of the largest refugee resettlers in the US. Rove must have planted her.

This is the reason why I doubt her sincerity.

Basically what she's saying is that this would be a tough and very public fight that she wants someone else to take up instead of her.

She has aspirations for bigger office and she doesn't want the damage. She's no leader, she's just another "looks good on paper and says a few conservative things" candidate. Dan is right.

I heard the reasoning behind not signing it on glenn beck last week. She made the right call, but few people will ever know it.

Just another way the Rs lose to the dims. The info and reasoning should be widespread, particularly in her state.

What was the progression of events here? Did she share her concerns with GOP legislative leaders and then did they ignore her and pass a questionable bill knowing it faced the possibility of veto? Or did she lay behind the log and then hit them with a veto.

That's between her and the people of South Dakota.

If conservatives manage to have a memory, however, she can hang u the VP or Presidential run.

She indicated support for the bill initially then changed her tune declaring she wouldn't sign it without changes. It wasn't questionable. She wants to pass it, just not have it apply to college athletics because she's afraid to take on the NCAA in court.

She claims her states lower courts are filled with liberals, and if they lose the initial court case because of a bad bill, they would have to allow men to compete with women until it is resolved.

I see way to much of this mindset on the conservative side. It was the same with Trump. If you were a conservative, but disagreed with Trump on any points, you were demeaned as a cuck and told to frick off.
Who do you suppose will still be able to fight for conservative causes when all who don’t agree totally with your positions 100% are told to frick off?

I’ll use an illustration to make my point.
Sure, we want to win every battle and some think any type of measured approach is not acceptable.
But those same types were those who agreed with violently storming the Capitol to make a point about how mad we were about a stolen election.
But what did that accomplish?
How many of those who were fired up to storm the Capitol are regretting it now?
