Didn't have time for a quick trip to DC (heading Minnesota tomorrow for 5 days) but how could could you not make time? I tried to get a hold of my ticket with the "Uniom" but they apparently destroyed most of those soon after it was discovered. It was a awesome and I am very grateful. This seat is in the gallery above and to the right of where POTUS was speaking. So, I had a great view looking down at the Ds. It was so odd seeing it in person. Their expressions, body language etc. Best way I can describe it is they simply throw off a strong :loser" vibe. Trump is living in their heads and they don't even know it!

Depending on how things go tomorrow and the next few years that might be a significant little piece of history you have there. Very cool!

Will definitely frame. Wanted to post all day but busy catching up on work, kids etc. It was fun watching all the mingling and glad-handing leading up to POTUS entering. The one group in the room that all eyes tend to gravitate to was JCS. So many people coming over to shake hands and say hello. Everyone dressed up in suits and dresses looking generally good for the occasion...then you see those guys all decked out in dress unis, stars everyone and medals galore. Real command presence. I am a vet so maybe I am a little biased!

Most excellent story, bro.

I'd like to attend one some day, regardless of party leadership at the time.

My college roommate is a senator. Traded the pics I took of him on spring break in '93 for the ticket. I said "you might be able to explain away the tennis ball machine and the bungee rope, but the midgets and the ceiling fan situation will take you down". His wife can go to the next one he made a good deal!

I had a real good view of her. She was essentially right below and a little to my left. She made a lot of odd expressions. It was strange watching her mingle beforehand. She seemed like a cartoon character floating around. Spent a lot of time chatting with her buddy Chuck the senator. Debbie Whats Her Name was fun to watch to. She spent most of the time chatting up the CBC group that had those weird halloween scarfs or whatever the hell that attire was supposed to be. She was taking pics for them with their cellphones. She and Chuck did give POTUS an enthusiastic standing O when he mentioned Jerusalem.

Incredibly cool. I was thinking while watching last night how cool it would be to attend a SOTU and to see practically the whole government there, in one room, and be in that room at the same time.

Was it as uncomfortable and awkward as it felt on TV? Do the guests in the top deck stand and clap much?

How loud was the USA chant?
