I have the 1911 a good friend of mine carried in Korea. Looks identical to yours.

You'll never go wrong with a 1911. My favorite platform of firearm, period.
I'm a SIG guy all the way, but Springfields shoot nice and feel good in the hand. I just strongly prefer SIG triggers.
