I don't think I ever again want a President beholden to the political rank and file

It was impossible to realize how huge a yoke it was around the neck of basically every other president in my lifetime until seeing someone without one.

I guess Reagan was close, but he was still, in many respects a 'party guy.' You can finally see how much a value it can be to have someone who's not. I guess, the challenge will be finding the next one - if it's possible.

After all of this shite The Establishment is putting Trump through, I seriously doubt that ANY person from outside of the deep state/establishment/Uniparty will EVER dare running for POTUS again.

Blee dat, baw. Trump is the Last Outsider to EVER be POTUS.

The problem becomes, I think, someone capable of winning the nomination (and Presidency) without support from the party apparatus - it essentially has to be someone on DJT's level of notoriety and wealth, which is pretty damn hard to come by.

Yep. And it's amazing how folks like Rubio, Ryan, etc. still think we are in the same media paradigm that we were in pre-Trump. Voters don't like focus group tested phonies who wear hard hats and jeans to factories and who still think the media will play ball with you if you say the right things. People like to see the guy they vote for take action and say the same things they are at the dinner table.

Yep. And it's scary the almost universal support that the witch hunt has gotten on both sides of the aisle. Make no mistake, they thought they had finally sealed off D.C to outsiders before Trump.

We’ll see how it goes in 2024. That’d be pretty weak of us Americans to regain control of our country only to immediately hand it right back. We’ll have to go on a streak because once we give it back catching them off guard again will be nearly impossible. Need the POTUS to endorse a third party!

Maybe there's another game show host that can sucker folks into electing it.

If another one will do things along the lines of what this guy is doing, I'm game.

Wink Martindale still alive? How bout Chuck Barris?

This reminds me: I have a question for the PB.

1) Who here has watched the Apprentice.
2) Who here voted for Donald Trump
3) If you answered yes to 1), did that affect your vote?

Personally, I never watched a damned minute of it. Nor did I give much of a shite about Trump outside of him being a cocky a-hole billionaire who made me giggle. You know what actually influenced my vote? The things he said. Now, I knew there was a chance he was full of shite, but at least the shite he was saying was better than anyone else. And look at us now, winning to a degree that would shame Saban and Belichick.

: I may have fricked up my life flatter'n hammered shite, but I stand here before you today beholden to no human cocksucker, and holdin' a workin' frickin' gold claim, and not the U.S. government tellin' me I'm trespassin', or the savage frickin' red man or any of these other limber-dick cocksuckers passin' themselves off as prospectors had better try and stop me.

Yep, I think Trump showed us who he is really beholden to in Helsinki.

And this is why: Kompromat

Fear of Blackmail
quote:

Keith Darden, an international-relations professor at American University, has studied the Russian use of kompromat—compromising material—and told me that he thinks it is likely that the President believes the Russians have something on him. “He’s never said a bad word about Putin,” Darden said. “He’s exercised a degree of self-control with respect to Russia that he doesn’t with anything else.” Darden said that this is evidence that Trump isn’t uniformly reckless in his words: “He is capable of being strategic. He knows there are limits, there are bounds on what he can say and do with respect to Russia.”

Not even two years,keep living.

It hasn't gotten bad yet.

But it's ok,the yankee has pulled the wool over your eyes.

It's not the first time it has happened to the vulnerable.

We'll play this out and survive and learn because we are America.

We've overcome worse..
