I don't even understand why the pro-vax crowd even cares if I'm vaccinated at this point

I mean hell. It made some sense back when they believed the vaccine actually prevented me from getting infected.
And it still made some sense back when they thought it at least prevented me from spreading it.
But today, when I find myself in discussion with them, the BEST they have is, "well, it reduces your odds of being seriously ill".
At this point, it seems most accurate to say that the pro-vax crowd is still all in on forcing everyone else because, well, THEY had to do it so why shouldn't you?
Think about that line some politician said recently about those who have been vaxxed making the sacrifice. Um, why is a pro-vaxxer referring to getting vaxxed as a "sacrifice"?
And it still made some sense back when they thought it at least prevented me from spreading it.
But today, when I find myself in discussion with them, the BEST they have is, "well, it reduces your odds of being seriously ill".

There is no justification for any mandate.
Not only that but most countries now are having more vaccinated in the hospital than unvaccinated. So why are they still taking unvaccinated off of organ recipient lists, kicking families out of the Ronald McDonald House, charging health insurance surcharges, and refusing medical care to the unvaccinated?

Many people believe in the value of taking the vaccine.
Many people also believe in the value of personal choice, regarding taking a vaccine or not.
Don't discount the feelings of those who simply want you to be health, regardless of your choice. It's not as black and white of an issue as your linear thinking allows.

The only remaining argument is, if the unvaccinated are requiring more hospital space than the vaccinated then the hospitals are overwhelmed [eta: by the unvaxxed disproportionately]
There are manifold problems with this "logic," factually, legally , etc. Not the least of which are: a) the hospitals aren't overwhelmed and b) to the extent they are understaffed it's in large part due to vaxx mandates and other stupid policies. [Eta C) I question any figures that show unvaxxed taking up more ICU beds, due to being unvaxxed--these people have lied so much I don't believe anything]

If these things are true.
1. Omicron less serious
2. Vaccine reduces seriousness of infection.
3. Over half the nation vaccinated including the vast majority of high risk age groups
4. 800K dead can't catch it again
5. Prior infected must have at least SOME protection
Then, it is just flat mathematically impossible to somehow overwhelm the hospitals more NOW than a year ago and anyone claiming this to be the case should be laughed out of the room.

Their most common argument is 'Just shut up and get vaccinated.'
They want to control your behavior. It's not enough to make a decision on your own to get vaxxed, they want to force you to get vaxxed.

I am healthy. A leaky vaccine will not make me more healthy or prevent me from getting sick. Which is what the covid-19 vaccine is.

This should’ve been the original message. But they thought they could get better vaccination numbers with “stop the spread” and “protect your family”. If they came out and we’re honest about the hospitalization numbers (true COVID respiratory failure), maybe it would’ve been a better message as well.
