I understood it. I was making fun of you, moneyg - because that's how you come across. You're whiny because people criticize Trump.

The why isn’t important. I can’t speak for why he does what he does.

The why establishes whether your suggestion deserves consideration or should be rejected as the nonsense it comes across as on first pass.

It’s not that they just believe Trump is better it’s that they believe he’s the only answer.

Yet he allowed Democrats to run all over him while he was in office.

We've seen this show before, no need to watch the rerun.

By saying it’s a means to an end?

Go ahead and explain why you think the Desantis campaign persists. For months you guys pretended the pills weren’t accurate. That was an obviously dishonest defense given the margins at play and even a rudimentary understanding of statistics, but it was a plausible defense.

Then Iowa. NH will be a bloodbath. SC as well.

It is what it is.

And we will be stuck with an 80 year old geezer who struggles to speak on a 4th grade level, regardless of who wins.

I have yet to see one. And that’s the problem a lot of RDS supporters have. It’s never been about policy, it’s been about personalities, height, and a wife, and revenge.

But, that’s what they like, because it doesn’t take a lot of work.

This is what I’m saying. To you there’s no difference between Biden and Trump. So, to you, there’s no real risk involved in helping Biden win.

I appreciate your honesty.

More than anything Desantis supporters are driven by anger.

I can’t believe people are still engaging in this drama. The same freakin arguments that were being had months ago…hell years..are still being had. Hard headed people making the same tired arguments over and over. Seems like a massive waste of mental energy, but that’s just me.

I cast stones at none but myself but someone here made a comment just last week that once a thread has gone over 3 pages, it usually has become little more than an insult generator that has gone off the rails. This thread has long ago passed that threshold.

That is not a complaint, just as observation. Many times the off-the-rail threads are the most entertaining!

With that said, let’s give credit where credit is due: despite their initial disagreement, Wednesday and 14 actually initiated a discussion above instead of degenerating into a “yo momma wears combat boots” yelling match. It can happen!

Tit, tat.

As Paleolithic Auburn football coach Shug Jordan once said about college football fans, no team has a lock on idiots.

I've never argued the polls were inaccurate. Not that I think they are, I'm just indifferent - don't care. A lot of other Ronbots have pointed out that it's MAGA that doesn't believe in polls, so why should they believed now?

There are several possible reasons that make perfect sense as to why DeSantis continues his campaign.

- If the 1% probability that Trump is legally wiped out by Democrats, he wants to be the nominee rather than Nikki Haley. 1% is generous, it's probably more like 0.1% - but what if?

- He's campaigning to make the arguments/suggestions for the conservative wing of MAGA/the Republican party. Trump is too liberal for conservatives liking, so a little pressure from the Right is a good thing.

- He's looking at 2028. After Trump/Trump fans have burned him down, as much as possible he may want to take the opportunity to speak to the Republican electorate directly.

- What the old saying? - there is no bad press. He may believe that his chances in '28 are better by campaigning longer, simply getting his name out/familiar.

It's insane to believe that DeSantis wants pedo-Joe to win in November.

You really think people get upset when Cult45 makes a joke about DeSantis' height?

I'll fill you in; People insult Cult45 when they make height jokes because Cult45 has zero ability to debate anything substantive.

Trumpettes are driven by free stuff. Donny's money printer.

It will be good to get the welfare queens out of the Republican party.

The answer is because of statistics and probability.

You got it. This is central to the Desantis strategy and has been for months. But, it's not "wiped out by Democrats". The GOPe is very much involved and have their hands dirty in this. Desantis is very willing to capitalize on this.

He'd have to be an idiot to not realize that his image has taken a serious hit through this campaign and then believe that continuing to campaign would benefit him moving forward.

He's not an idiot. But, if he stays in the race he's going to continue to take shots. Florida will be interesting. I don't think he has the heart to be demolished in his home state. But, if he does it will be merciless and painful to watch.

You think?

Because that's the only reason I would vote for Donald Trump at this point. Or Vivek Ramaswamey. Or any populist, for that matter.

The answer is because of statistics and probability.

You missed the part about MAGA duplicity, which was the main point of the line you quoted.

Out of curiosity, do you believe every poll is accurate and reported on accurately, moneyg?

Desantis is very willing to capitalize on this.

And conservatives are very thankful for that.

Are you going to hold Trump accountable for putting the establishment in position to do this and everything else they're up to?

Why do you laugh at conservatives wanted a voice in the discussion? I thought you considered yourself conservative.

He's not. And he's also not a secret liberal plotting to get Joe Biden reelected, as you suggest. That notion is stupid.
