Why? We already know how this is going to go down. I will list several obvious traits of Trump supporters and Trump himself that indicate fascist tendencies, and you guys will go "nuh uh...liberals... FTFY". You will shove your head in the sand like a true unwitting fascist.

But here we go.

First and foremost is the focus on nationalism. Not patriotism, but nationalism. This is an integral component to building a fascist nation, and Trump supporters wear the nationalist label with pride.

Next is unifying and rallying the people against a perceived common threat. In this case, liberals. Liberals are blamed for all problems, and fascism branded as "MAGA" is here to save the day.

Government control of media. This is one that conservatives are really going to laugh about due to the strong perception that media is owned and controlled by the left. But with Trump we have blatant manipulation of the media. If he doesn't like a particular outlet, he won't answer their questions or they are banned from things. He uses his very loud Twitter platform to cast doubt over negative news about him, as well as to manipulate markets. Now isn't Jr. trying to get involved in OANN? And I've seen plenty here celebrate the news of that. OP is begging for totalitarian fascism to complete the silencing of independent media, and he's getting upvoted sky high. It's insane.

Rampant cronyism and corruption. The presidency is treated like a family business. You guys are lapping up all the loyalty bullshite. That's how dictators run things. They surround themselves with people who are loyal to them rather than to the nation. You also fall for the idea that since Trump was already rich, he's giving up all kinds of potential personal wealth to serve you out of the kindness of his heart. "He doesn't even take a salary!" This is laughably naive. The presidency is now a marketing platform. That's his business, the brand. Trump is likely to see personal wealth gains from the presidency that dwarf all prior presidents.

An obsession with national security, motivated by fear. Fear is used as a motivational tool to make you hate outsiders. It started early with the focus on illegal immigration from Mexico. Then muslim travel bans. Now it's the chinese. And all the while these same tools have been used to make you hate your own countrymen who have different views. This thread is just one example of how effective this campaign has been.

Now there is a campaign brewing to cast doubt over an election that hasn't happened yet. This is setting the stage for violent protests if Trump loses.



And many (most?) of you are either oblivious to these obvious indicators of fascism, or you welcome them like OP here and his many upvoters.

The fact that it is a foregone conclusion to you that the left wants all-out socialism, and that socialism is equivalent to communism, and that it must be defeated right now, says it all. You do not see the stark contrast. Rs are holding armed protests at government buildings right now. You guys don't bat an eye. You guys cheer it on. What if BLM had done the same? My god, you would all support military intervention.
