And they don’t run the show. Democrats do. This is their handiwork.
On both sides (myself included), bleeding heart liberals and compassionate conservatives, we love nothing more than kicking the other team when they are down. It feels like a nice outlet for all of the resentment and frustration of the current political system, but how do we get out of this? This certainly isn’t “Love thy neighbor.”

I suspect there is a lot of 'ballot harvesting' that occurs in those filthy slum areas of the big urban areas.
I just don''t think many of those drug addicts muster the impulse to personally cast a vote on anything.
that's the main reason they want illegal aliens and zombie druggies to be plentiful = great for 'get out the vote efforts'

The same group of people that call anyone to the right of Mao a "white nationalist nazi"? The same people that literally cheer on the censorship, jailing, and death of their political enemies?
I remember all the shitty things leftists gleefully threw around about Louisiana after any major disaster
This is one of the many reasons I quit voting alongside them decades ago

First thing you have to do is begin holding people who are responsible for this to a level of accountability, not as much for fire, as you do what exacerbated it, and the ability of first responders to react to it, cutting 17 million dollars in funding to the fire department, diverting much needed water in a very arid climate and fire prone area like California of all places into the Pacific Ocean, not maintaining the forest floor because of outrageous radical environmental red tape, etc. We are not going to give air hugs and make it better. Matter of fact, refusing to use this opportunity where America’s short attention span is on California to hold people accountable for it only serves to enable more irresponsibility on government. We reward them.

I do not. Natural disasters happen all over the country, i'll take my chances here, where these disasters are usually known days prior and there is infrastructure to mitigate the impact.

I don’t disagree with accountability at all. There is a lot of wild shite coming out about funding, department politics that needs to be addressed.
I do disagree with the spiking of the football, and the touchdown dances happening all over the board.
I live in Texas. We have done jack shite about the electrical grid failure in 2021 other than line the pockets of power companies and politicians. I bought a generator, I’ve done some basic prepping shite, I tried to vote some of these fricks out, but as an individual there is only so much you can do.
Some of the stuff in California is very fricked up, but there’s always going to be Monday morning quarterbacking. It’s critical, it should happen. A lot of this is just people enjoying watching the other side burn.

I love my neighbors enough to tell them the harsh truth: stop voting for democrats and their DEI policies if you value your life and livelihood.
It’s a party of death and destruction.
The California government, and specifically Newsom, valued the Delta smelt over their own citizens. They didn’t take preemptive measures to mitigate the fires. Their land management policies are abysmal. The people in charge are DEI hires and political candidates.
This isn’t the first fire. They knew. Trump warned them time and again. But if he says left, they say right.

At the end of this, the only thing that is going to matter is what did people learn from it, and what is being done to address it and stop it from happening again. If nothing, then there’s the problem. You can kick them all to the streets, but if the system or machine is still in place doing the same dumb stuff, then you didn’t fix anything.

I get your reaction. One either has compassion or one does not. But still, were you not boxed into a message board corner I think you would be among the first to admit that policy is important, and that California policy is horrifically incompetent.
So let’s have compassion AND call out these incompetent, ideologically-possessed Leties that have run our biggest national jewel ( California and it’s not close) into the ground.

It’s very easy to shite and dump on California and much of it is deserved. But dude, this is a Louisiana message board. The hilarity of people on this board acting like they have all the answers is comical. So much time spent laughing and pointing fingers at California while Louisiana is in shambles. Who would look at Louisiana and want to recreate its current economy, education system, etc?
I love Louisiana, I grew up there. I moved as soon as I graduated college, as did 90% of my friends. Most of them MAGA.

I’m not pointing fingers or laughing. I’m saying if you value your life, stop voting for politicians whose policies result in death and destruction.
Everyone on this board said the exact same thing after the terrorist attack in New Orleans.

Why do liberal areas have longer life expectancy? The life expectancy in San Francisco is 83 years.

Didn’t read the article just scrolled to the map.

People on here vote Trump and celebrate increased offshore drilling after the BP oil spill, while it significantly contributes to the erosion of the Louisiana coastline, cancer alley has a life expectancy of 73 years and energy companies rob Louisiana blind compared to the taxes they pay in neighboring states.
To some extent we all are in glass houses.
