Anyone with a modicum of sense knew there was going to have to be some momentary pain and suffering in order to correct course long-term. If we TRULY want to pay off/down the debt, it's going to have to get a lot rougher before it gets better.
People like you are why we've gotten into this mess. Most people agree that $40 trillion in debt is going to end us one way or another and something needs to be done, but when it comes time they become the government version of NIMBYs

We've continuously thrown more and more money at our military year over year, and their effectiveness has only decreased in that same time frame.
It mirrors the Department of Education in that way. We spend more in both departments than any other country and both have done nothing but decline in results and effectiveness as more money has been poured in.
I know you're just concern trolling or too intellectually shallow to understand, but throwing more dollars at a problem isn't always the answer
