I'm a little skeptical of this. I think part of it is there is pushback if a studio tries to make any long-term push to film outside of Hollywood. I believe they could definitely compete if they were to shift some of the work to other, more tax-friendly states.

Dennis Quaid was on Fox News the other day.

He said there are essentially no movies being made in California anymore.

They're all being made in Georgia (which is booming) and Canada (specifically Vancouver and Toronto) and various other places. But Georgia, Vancouver, and Toronto are the centers now.

I regularly come into contact with actors and productions here in Atlanta. Andre 3000, Adam Scott, Vin Diesel, Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, TI, Ron Howard, I've met and been in meetings with them all.

Andre 3000 was very easy going, chill, reserved, polite. Adam Scott was friendly, professional, relaxed. Vin Diesel was focused, energetic, a bit loud. Jennifer Lawrence was distant, cold, with a bitch attitude. Chris Pratt was the most down to earth, relaxed, friendly, normal guy. TI was a distant, quiet a-hole that openly ignored people that asked him questions or gave one word emotionless responses without looking at the person talking to him. I had a black co worker with me on that one and he wa so pumped about getting to see and talk with TI, he said "after I've got to tell him how much he and his music mean to me." And he did, afterwards when we were leaving he told him and TI just said "alright." No smile, no friendliness, no professionalism. Ron Howard was very down to earth, polite, engaging, smart, professional.

Ignorant retard, Hollywood types as you describe them still get paid, they just travel out of the country. The people who are being screwed are the blue collar production workers who are out of work because most of filming has left the country,

This also isn’t a subsidy, it’s tax credits for locally produced expenses and labor.

Kim Strassel and the WSJ are all for Big Ag and Oil subsidies, but heaven forbid the random camera operator or hairstylist in Los Angeles or Atlanta get to keep their job because studios can now make films domestically

Trump has always wanted to be "in' with the Hollywood scene. So this doesn't surprise me a bit.
