Goldman Sachs Won’t Take Companies Public If They Have All-Male Corporate Boards

quote:

“Starting on July 1 in the U.S. and Europe, we’re not going to take a company public unless there’s at least one diverse board candidate, with a focus on women,” Solomon told CNBC from the World Economic Forum. He added, “And we’re going to move towards 2021 requesting two.”

"He" would be Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon

Well good luck with that plan and let me know what your investors think

Goldman Sachs HR: 'So, Ms. Jones, do you have any experience in the world of economics or investments?'

Ms. Jones: 'Uh, no, not really.'

HR: 'Well, that might be a problem. Let me ask you this. Do you have a pulse?'

Ms. Jones: 'Yes! Yes, I do!'

HR: 'Congratulations and welcome aboard.'

Wanna take a guess what issue is almost certainly one of the top stockholder proposals each year (and has been for years)?

The biggest stockholders aren’t a collection of your average Joe Investor, or even rich people. It’s institutional investors, like CALPERS, the CA state retirement system.

It’s a headache to have to deal with these stockholder proposals every year when the solution (getting a female or minority) is pretty easy.

David Solomon should show how committed he is and resign his position to a woman.

Yep. All this silliness does is create pointless charades.

See, also, DBE requirements for public bids.

Guess they’ll have to focus on all the big successful companies ran solely by women and minorities....

So at this point they are just openly acknowledging that "diversity" it just code for "no whites, no males"

I seriously wonder how many all white male boards are left. I venture to guess it is damn few whether women deserve to be on them or not.
