How rampant is systemic racism? Oh it’s worse than we know!

We all know systemic racism is the biggest hurdle facing this country, forget about Covid19, it ain’t even close, as compassionate Americans, systemic racism should be our common enemy. There’s no real tangible way to measure how much systemic racism has stunted the development of our society but there’s no denying that systemic racism has created the conditions in our society that lead to societal degradation. Look at Chicago, Washington DC, NY, Baltimore, etc. these cities are all indications of systemic racism, these cities have high poverty and crime ....there’s no denying systemic racism has caused these cities to suffer.

Some of you may know that I’ve been married to a beautiful black woman for over 30 years. We are frequently together in various social settings and it’s been interesting as a mixed race couple. I sometimes feel guilty that we are treated differently by restaurant staff, they’re like really nice to us, same thing when we’re at a local craft brewery or any other small business, people seem to gravitate towards us....these small businesses who are going out of there way to be nice to us are sometimes doing it at the expense of other patrons and I feel bad about that.

I ask my wife on occasion if she ever tires of being a victim of systemic racism, she’ll look at me kinda weird and say, “If I’ve been the victim of systemic racism the past 58 years keep it coming.”
