Don’t hijack the entire legislative process with pandering bullshite, for starters.
If you want to not care about the media or Democrats or the public, win bigger majorities and stop nominating retards in competitive races.

Either govern just like Democrats and hope the media leaves them alone, or be in opposition (what their voters want) and get attacked by the media.

Cause they go where the free money is. Until that culture changes it won't change.

I could only wish. We all know how it really goes, the Republicans capitulate to the Democrats every time and never the other way.
I always laugh when people bitch about gridlock. That is how it is supposed to work, that is why we are supposed to have seperate, "but equal" branches of government. They balance eachother out through competing interests. The idea of the branches of government being in unison on any idea should be terrifying.
An ideal government would look like cane beatings taking place on the chamber floor, as opposed to kumbaya sessions.

The whole point is it is impossible to win bigger majorities with the current media apparatus, and also the size, stupidity, and selfishness of the electorate.

No, it is not supposed to be perpetual gridlock. What nonsense
It is supposed to be cumbersome, forcing compromise and incremental policy movements to avoid swinging wildly back and forth.
Partisan gridlock and running perpetual election campaigns while abdicating all governance to unelected executive bureaucrats hasn't worked out all that well for us.

Also nonsense. The only portion of the electorate that is holding back Congressional Republicans are Republicans primary voters. For two straight elections now the GOP should was poised for large victories and majorities in both chambers, only to fall short because primary voters chose idiots instead of electable candidates.

I need you to provide examples of what you consider "electable" canidates.
If by electable, you just mean Democrat-lite, primary voters (including myself) aren't going to have any interest in voting for them. In many ways, we are better off with a Democrat in that seat that can receieve the full brunt of opposition, as opposed to an enemy inside the castle walls.

Name me an instance in the last 20 years you can think of the Democrats moving to the right for a conservative issue supported by Republicans in the name of "bi-partisanship". Name me just one instance.
I can name many instances where Republicans have caved. Yet Republicans are constantly labeled as unwilling to negotiate or compromise. All they mean by compromising is Republicans having to capitulate and give away everything to the Dems.

Doesn't mean it shouldn't have happened, but the black narrative these days is that black people being incarcerated is solely the product of a white supremacist system. Joe Biden was a major cog in the wheel of that specific system.
This may be your opinion that incarceration is solely the product of a white supremacist system but it certainly isn't the average Black Democrat voter's opinion.
quote:
Second, there is no bigger single example of someone being The Man in the context of a supposed white supremacist system keeping black people down than that crime bill. Not since the Civil Rights Act, anyway. There are Democrats (ostensibly) seriously discussing reparations for stuff that happened 200 years ago. But Joe Biden putting Boyz In Tha Hood in prison and throwing away the key is obsolete because it happened in the 90s?
Republicans also voted for the crime bill so I'm not sure how this supports your point.
But Black people certainly don't believe that the crime bill was somehow a product of white supremacy.
quote:
I agree that they don't see it that way, but they don't see it that way because their perception is the truth. They see it that way because they've been sold lies. And not by Republicans.
And this is exactly one reason why Black people and other minorities don't vote for Republicans.
Instead of acknowledging where you go wrong as a party, you instead suggest voters are being tricked.

Rand Paul would win alot of black votes. Mike Pence wouldn't.

I remember when Rand got alot of buzz visiting HBCUs, etc. GOP like Ted Cruz, and Paul Ryan said they were going to follow suit. I'm still waiting for them to follow Rand's example.
