If money were approved/allocated tomorrow, how long would it take to get things moving? This needs to end and border agents should have what they need to help with this crap.

Years I think. A lot of the land will have to be taken by eminent domain. Judge Nap says that will require congressional approval. Idk if that's true, but if it is we're fricked.

Ugh. Why are people so so dumb? Dems wanted this. When it was Obama’s idea. They just hate Trump and I don’t see this ending as long as they don’t even talk reasonable talk.

I’m staring to be really scared for myself and my kids and future grandkids. I don’t want here to be like other countries gone bad.

It would probably take between 5 to 7 years.

That’s building around 300 to 400 miles a year

There are 300-500 miles along the AZ and NM border where the government already has a 60 foot easement and either no barrier or a vehicle barrier (aka barbed wire and guardrail).

A big beautiful steel barrier could begin construction immediately.

Baby steps.

This would force the migration to South Texas and increase the motivation for those ranchers to cooperate.

There is also a unmanned border crossing in that area. All they have is a camera.

After crossing you need to self report.

I’m not for sure exactly where, but it is in a very rural area. A border patrol agent said most of the time it takes hours and sometimes more than 24 hours to get to some of these rural area’s.

No links. I saw this on TV a few weeks ago

ETA: Found this

Get ready for the very first "unmanned" border station on the U.S.-Mexico border. Slated to open at the end of this month, the Big Bend National Park in Texas will be staffed by, you guessed it, computers.

The station will be equipped with machines that can scan citizenship documents and conduct live video interviews with U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at a station in El Paso, Texas, Tech News Daily reports. While Mexican citizens will be able to use the crossing, U.S. officials maintain that Americans tourists to the national park are more likely to do so. When a similar CBP crossing was open in the same location more than a decade ago, few Mexicans used it. In 2002, because of increased security measures, U.S. officials closed the original crossing, forcing tourists to travel more than 100 miles to the next nearest crossing to get to Mexico, according to Nextgov.

While similar unmanned border crossings are already implemented successfully on the Canadian border, this will be the first time a totally computerized station is built on the U.S.-Mexico border. Although this isn't exactly the first high-tech solution CBP has used to monitor the Southern border.

Fair point but has nothing to do with how long it will take to build. Pay attention.

If the government wants it, it wants it.

Eminent Domain takes like nothing of a time.

Some guy wakes up one morning with beautiful beachfront property, suddenly 3 months later...you've got strangers prancing about and Wal-Mart moving in...But we'll give you fair-market bullshite value.

Trump could Eminent Domain the shite out of the entire Southwest.

The Dems would oppose it...but it would be legal.

I would contract the engineering and construction to an Israeli firm (they know how to build effective walls, just ask the Palestinians).

The contract would explicitly state Mexican nationals would be used for labor during construction.

I would then remind our Israeli friends of our decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital, and demand “rock bottom price”.

Then I would send ST6 to Mexico to kill, capture and seize assets belonging to the cartels, which would be used to fund construction of the wall.

Then I would tell the Dems to suck it.
