Voting for US Senator is much different than voting for a state race. People are fine with shipping controversial people to DC, it’s when they run for office back home that people balk. Vitter is a good example. He won reelection to the Senate in a blowout after the hooker stuff came out. It was when he ran for Governor that it became a problem. People will have no problem voting for Paxton and shipping him to DC.
