Switchboard operators at the White House need clearances. This guy needing and getting one was easy as he is young and his last job was Publix.

I will bet there are a lot of these same aged in govt. This one was so emboldened by the Biden/Obama rhetoric and crimes justifiable because OMB... That he went a step further and was on the take for classified information.

I think the title of this OP is strange like the Bongino thread one.

How about -Man selling classified info arrested by the FBI? Why has this board gone Corky?

Exactly, they just get access to information pertinent to their job/mos

More than an “incident” happened friend…you mean hit and run? leaving scene without rendering aid? lying to cops?

Nobody in the military would have a clearance if a traffic "incident" was enough to kill yours. I'm not saying it didn't happen to you, but they're not that anal about them. They mainly look for things you can be blackmailed over or behaviors that will eventually lead to things you can be blackmailed over.

You'd be surprised at how many people have the lowest level of "top secret" clearance. Lots of professors, for example.

I have had 'Top Secret' from both DO Defense (nasa) and DO Energy (nuke power)

not that big a deal until you start using it like this guy

I dont know what to say about being turned down

You don't need a TS to sell info and most government employees don't have one and never will.

True, but there are a helluva lot of TS outstanding. Too many. Like well over a million at this point.

What he is saying is the clearance criteria and DEI direct orders under the radar under Obama and fully out under Biden... give any snot nosed IT nerd a clearance.

This kid was not said to unlawfully access the classified info he was selling. So he had a clearance.

This is treason no matter if the information wasn't of great significance and that bastard needs to be strung up from a tall oak tree.

This is such a wild story. How does one go from a decade long career as a Publix cashier to have ANY clearance at all inside the DOD?

Un-fricking believable. As much as I'd love to bash Biden, DEI, or whatever, this piece of shite was hired in 2019 under Trump's command. Just a total fricking head scratcher.

I was going to work, one way and he the other way on a back street through suburbia. He clocked me speeding (50 in a 35) and disappeared from view around a turn and over a hill. I pulled over and lost footing on front tire on the shoulder and the bike fell over. He decided that I was attempting to elude him and charged me with that despite never chasing me with lights or audible sirens. I was 19 at the time and didn't have the cash to hire a lawyer to fight the case and that's the story, my friend.

That probably happens, but he was hired in August 2019. I'd guess he got his clearance processed under Trump and this doesn't sound like a position high enough that any administration would put their thumb on the scales.

Shitheads sneak through; it happens. Fortunately they caught this one.

Oh, and then the recruiter said "hey, it's over 10 years ago so we won't put it on your form", so I said ok. 1 week before shipping out to Chicago the recruiter goes off for some work in DC. His stand in tells me to come into the office to fill out a form to tell them why I didn't disclose this incident. I told them the recruiter said it wasn't a big deal because over 10 years ago. I asked them to call the original recruiter up and he'll tell you what happened. They were not interested in calling him to confirm. I was looking at Boatswains’s Mate classification without getting an IT slot. At that point I found another civilian job and never shipped off to basic.

Right, I had a “secret” clearance for 36 years in the Gov’t. But, the info I had access to, no foreign agent would want. This POS worked for a Defense Intelligence Agency with info foreign agents would like. He also had a “top secret” clearance which is limited to people they supposedly can trust. They should probably revise the application to ask if you have TDS. Remember Lt Col Vindman

How do you go from being a Publix cashier (for a decade) to working IT for the DoD intel?
