They probably didn't KNOW to target it. They threw a dart at a board with all govt agencies and funds. it landed on USAID. and, shocker there was fraud and insane wastefulness. ALL the others will yield the same.

Well, I'm old enough to remember the Viet Nam war. At that time, everybody knew that USAID was just a CIA cover. That means that it's funding did not get much oversight, which made it a perfect place to hide whatever the swamp wanted to fund.

I mean this is an easy one to answer. Trump is an isolationist, so the natural thing to target is the entity that focuses on things outside of our borders…

Take a look at the things that USAID funded that lead to Trump's harassment for the last probably 6 years. He took out the thing that had the potential to damage him. Another 6 weeks of law fare from the left as funds in the pipe dry up for the lawyers. Then the beast will be dead.

Another thread answered this. Trump paused all federal aid and waited to see which agency ignored them the most. USAID appeared out of nowhere.

Wow, you don't follow politics very well. Lemme help, border wall finish (inside border), USAID (inside AND outside our border), CA Fires & Restoring water to areas needing them most (inside), REAL women in sports/academics vs. Trans (inside), Illegal deportations (inside), removing intelligence access to rogue military and political NGO puppets (inside). Fixing the Middle East stagnation conflict (mostly outside, but also inside due to our "obligations" to financially protect the region, when the moneys we spent were useless up to this point). That's just a start. I could go on, but you go ahead and follow your meathead talking points. It's just Feb 8, and the melt for you is only going to get worse. Sorry.
