Percentage gain doesn't care how much money you have in the market when comparing to the market as a whole or others.

So if the percentages in the OP are accurate, he either had his money in riskier securities meaning he lost more on the way down as well, or bought in at the bottom (with him knowing where the bottom was going to be), or both, in order to almost double his gains on the day compared to what the rest of the market did.

How did Trump pump his stock?

Can you articulate what you think Trump did that was out of line?

Correct. But it’s corrupt as hell and something this board has long railed against. I hope that isn’t changing

What this board has long railed about is when members of congress PURCHASE or Sell stocks prior to the public announcement of policy that affects that specific company they Bought or sold... i.e. using insider knowledge that would land every day citizens in prison.

Trump did no such thing!

The fact that Trump is willing to make decisions for the country that could tank the market should tell you all you need to know about his priorities.

Right... If he's doing the same thing as Congress and nothing is done, then wouldn't that mean that he is part of the swamp he is hellbent on draining?

And also...

If you know, or even better, have control over when the market will tank and come roaring back like yesterday, then you could make yourself a lot more money than just parking your money in a boring, slowly increasing market.
