How did people get so deranged? Last night was funny but now Im just at a loss

National "news" networks. So called serious news (CNN) and nightly news (NBC, CBS) literally ran with a story from a website (buzzfeed) that LITERALLY currently has the headline is "20 Cats From This Week Who Graced The Internet With Their Presence" did no verification and everyone was ready to call obstruction of justice. Democrats in congress literally immediately called for hearings. This is like republicans using conservative treehouse as evidence. The thing is its not just the news organizations, I wander on occasion of big stories to r/politics to see the mood and they STILL believe that crap.
Basically my question is to the liberals on this board-has Trump done anything so bad to warrant this level of derangement? My life has been pretty good in the last two years. Nothing in my day to day life has changed other than a little more in my paycheck

It’s not going to change either. The ability to disagree and be civil about it is gone. I had a discussion the other day and attempted to be as level headed as possible to see their side and BAM!! I became the enemy and 60 percent of all non democratics are owned by Russia. It’s crazy and I don’t see it getting better

Well, the Aztecs ripped the hearts out of innocent people in order to ensure that the sun came up in the morning. So, there have always been deranged groups.
