It’s really unreal to look at McCain and Romney in retrospect and think: THOSE GUYS were considered party standard bearers?!?!

Yep, I voted for both. Sucker.

I didn’t vote for either of them in a primary.

2008 was the first presidential election where I was eligible to vote.

I voted for McCain and would vote for his rotting corpse today if obama was its opponent.

McCain was a fraud but we wouldn't have gotten Sotomayor and Kagan had he won.

Ron Paul voter here

Presidential Candidates are organized behind the scenes by the uniparty power brokers.

It was supposed to be Jeb-Hillary in 2016 before Trump.

To be fair, when you rank the last six republicans who were nominated, you only get two great ones (Reagan and Trump).

McCain had a few good years, but overall would rank a 3/10 as a conservative.
Romney a 4/10
Bush I (GHWB) ranks a 6 or 7.
Bush II (GWB) a 7 at best.

I just remembered Dole is in there... I think he gets reasonably good marks... but probably would have not resembled Reagan or Trump as president. Good man, though.

Oh, and frick you McCain!

Not like you had much choice. The least worst option

They were very Republican for their time. It wasn’t until Trump’s magical escalator ride that awakened the Deplorable Caucus of Dixiecrats and Republicans shifted farther right than Pat Buchanan.

If the RINO establishment thought they could get away with it and that he would challenge Trump, they’d get out the shovels and the Febreze and you’d get your chance in the primaries. Hell, I hear they have another funeral service scheduled for next week.
