How bad is it getting in California?

So bad that they can't afford to allow illegals to participate in a state program which aids first time home buyers.
They've had to cut just over $19B in one-time spending for this fiscal year alone and are still having to do other tightening.
That's what happens when your laws promote greater criminality while also chase away taxpaying citizens and businesses. The absolute worst part about this is that not only will Leftists do their damnedest to ignore that their ideas caused this, they'll move to other states to escape the effects but then turn around and try to institute them in their new homes.

In addition to this, I saw a short youtube video talking about how CA will come and yank your Tesla if it's in proximity to a crime. They will take your Tesla because Tesla vehicles have Sentry Mode, where cameras monitor the area around the vehicle. So CA just tows the vehicle and takes it away so they can download all the material captured by Sentry Mode. This is a wild violation of property rights and 4th Amendment protections. Probably more.

They’ve disallowed certain state tax benefits for businesses for the next 3 years because their general fund is so depleted.
They said they may reimplement them after they “analyze” it by May 14 every year.

It’s probably fake news, but that won’t stop them from believing it. For one thing, this requires us to believe that in California they are very dedicated to solving random street crime.

Gavin is awesome. He’s turned into a fiscal conservative and he’s kicking the homeless out (hopefully sending them back to their home states). All it took was an election year for him to see the light.
