They did not even though pointed out to them on the first page. Hell, it doesn't even mention Israel.
It did give them the opportunity to step out of the closet to show their anti-semitism

frick the UN and EU.
The government cannot tell you what not to buy. If I don’t want to buy Bud Lite so be it.
This is blatantly unconstitutional.

Well said.
If you go back thousands of years- it’s a helluva rabbit hole.
Eye opening.

Smart people will notice that this is all about zionism. The dumb ones will fall into anti-jewish rhetoric, which is unfortunate. I don't think we should hate Jews for being Jews. We should hate Jews who are Zionists and Christian Zionists who have been brainwashed by the Jewish-funded Scofield Bible. There are plenty of good Jews who also stand against Israel's crazy ambitions and nasty globalist influences, so don't fall for this propaganda that anti-zionism =/= antisemitism (most modern day Jews aren't even semites...but that's for another discussion).

Why not do this for any boycott endorsed by international bodies like the UN or the EU?

Good thing that's not what's happening.

All you got to do is read his x feed. This bill is an add on to an existing law. It's all about IGOs, international governmental organizations.
Oook, that makes a lot more sense.

Because this is how you get antisemitism.
This has to stop.
Israel has way too much power over this country
No how you get that is by propaganda like in the op and people not looking it up on their on.
You did just that. The bill is an add on to an exsisting bill and it doesn't mention one thing about Israel nor your ability to boycott.

This better go down in flames as this is as bad as anything democrats could get done
If it passes let's see which way the veto power goes. That will tell you all you need to know.

What will tell you all that you need to know is to read the bill. Then there would be no responses made in ignorance.

I will give you that. I should've known better than to take the tweet in the OP at face value.
Though, I don't care for the part of the bill that dictates who a private business can and cannot do business with. It feels like it could be abused.
The Jew stuff is bullshite.

I have a quibble with the thread title. Canada and the UK are the USA's greatest allies and have been for more than a century and will be into the future.
The USA is certainly the greatest supporter of Israel but how much did Israel help us in the two wars against Iraq and the war in Afghanistan? Canada, the UK, and others did help us in those endeavors. An alliance is a two way street. Heck, even tiny Demark helped us in Iraq and Afghanistan losing 8 KIA in Iraq and 44 in Afghanistan.

H.R. 867, known as the IGO Anti-Boycott Act, is a bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 31, 2025, during the 119th Congress. It aims to amend the Anti-Boycott Act of 2018 to extend its provisions to international governmental organizations (IGOs), such as the United Nations or European Union, in addition to foreign countries. Here’s a concise overview:
• Purpose: The bill seeks to prevent IGOs from fostering or imposing boycotts against U.S. allies, particularly targeting movements like the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel. It expands existing law, which already prohibits U.S. persons and businesses from complying with boycotts imposed by foreign countries that are not sanctioned by the U.S.
• Key Provisions:
• Amends Section 1773 of the Anti-Boycott Act (50 U.S.C. 4842) to include IGOs alongside foreign countries in anti-boycott regulations.
• Requires the President to submit an annual report to Congress, listing foreign countries and IGOs that promote boycotts and describing those boycotts.
• Penalties for violations, as outlined in the 2018 Act, include fines up to $1 million and/or up to 20 years in prison, which would apply to H.R. 867 if passed.
This was already in place.
If we were Allies with Russia and didn’t sanction them for the Ukraine war, this would apply to them as well.

Original bill put forward by Democrat,
So 32 states have similar laws
And the leftist group calls it lawfare. I thought that didn’t exist?
quote:
The Israel Anti-Boycott Act (IABA) (H.R. 1697; S. 720) was a proposed anti-BDS law and amendment to the Export Administration Act of 1979 designed to allow U.S. states to enact laws requiring contractors to sign pledges promising not to boycott any goods from Israel, or their contracts would be terminated, and to make it a federal crime, punishable by a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment, for American citizens to encourage or participate in boycotts against Israel and Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
quote:
The proposed law was a response to the BDS movement's call for boycotts, divestment and sanctions against Israel. As of 2020, 32 state legislatures have already passed bills similar to IABA. If the law was passed in the federal legislature, it would be easier to enforce.
Critics of the law and supporters of BDS claim that it is unconstitutional. They claim that participation in politically motivated boycotts is a form of free speech protected by the First Amendment and that anti-BDS laws are a form of lawfare.

Easily the most unconstitutional shite ever proposed. Hopefully very eye opening to people on both sides of the political spectrum about who the actual power brokers behind the scenes really are.
Y’all should do research before saying outrageous shite.
