Will he be as good as Steve? No. But nobody else would be either. Steve is iconic.
He was the best choice of the available roster.
And he is an incredibly brave and heroic character that is as American as apple pie.
My Alamo is that Falcon/Winter Soldier was better than people remember. It wasn't stellar, but it was solid.

It suffered mostly from a mediocre, "Now I have to do something evil because otherwise my motivations might not seem all that bad" antagonist, plus that speech at the end.
Otherwise I agree; I think the two leads also do really well opposite each other.
