UPS and FedEx are not required to deliver to rural areas. USPS is.

This somewhat mitigates their lack of profitability. It in no way mitigates the piss poor job performance.

I still find it amazing that for 78¢ I can send a letter anywhere in the U.S. and have it hand-delivered to that person in around 3 days.

That hasn’t been our experience, and we occasionally do mass mailings…

All of the sadness, chaos in the world and USA and you are worried about tipping your mailman and women? My carriers are 3 to 4 people. Subtle brag of being Erkel baller... Did you become a postman after your Naval discharge? Those junk mailers are heavy huh? Seriously...

Mail carriers I know got the worst hoods as their first deliveries to get broken in. On the first or 15th of the month their mail trucks are chased by a man running down the road but he can't work. (BEFORE Direct Deposit)

Another nerd erkel fabrication. I have had letters from only 2 states away take a full week for delivery. The USPS sucks hairy black balls.

Do an EXPEDITITED overnight small package. It takes up to 3 business days but they outright tell you if you pay $28 to upgrade the speed it will still get there in the 3 to 5 business days.

Ah, so you work for the Post Office.

That explains a lot.

USPS does not deliver packages in rural areas. They leave a note in your mailbox telling you to come and get your package from the post office.

Once there, you get to argue with the boomer that refuses to retire over the location of said package (it’s in the back they just don’t want to get it).

UPS/Fedex subcontracts locally and they bring the package to the door every time.

Abolish the USPS.

Over the last 30 years all of my mail carriers have been middle aged lazy stupid females. Everyone in the neighborhood hates them. Just a few:
a. She ran into my neighbor's brick mailbox and demolished it.
b. She will not pick up outgoing mail unless she has mail to put in your box.
c. She tears up the edge of your grass when turning around. I explained that she can simply put her jeep in reverse for 6 feet and then forward out. She claimed that it's against Post Office rules to put her vehicle in reverse.
The post office should not exist. Private delivery of all mail was very successful in the 1800s. It was banned by govt because city post masters were appointed as reward for donating to the winning candidate.

Last year, I gave $1 million dollars to my postman. In typical USPS fashion, it took him 27 days to cash the check.

Tipping postal workers may be one of the dumbest thoughts ever.

I give my mailman something because he does a good job with hiding packages from being stolen.

Well that’s gotta be worth at least $20 cash value

The average letter-carrier salary is $66K, yet they get all the flak if your Amazon package is delayed by 24hrs.

Nothing wrong with throwing them a $20 gift card.

The mail never stops…
