I wonder what he would do if he were in Chicago where there have been somewhere around 1700 shootings since 01 January.

The thing this jackass doesn't get is stricter gun laws only affect the average every day American. The thugs doing the shooting don't give a damn!

Look, I'm not arguing with you. I've participated in these threads and they are among the liveliest. Democrats are not going let this stuff lie. And they think they have the advantage in the long run. There are few in-between democrats or republicans left (Mitt Romney excluded). So they (dems) are going to push, push, push and push this gun control stuff on and on and on. And they may have demographics on their side. So for me, a man in his sixth decade, it's going to be tough to fight off this gun control stuff. It's not like it used to be. The democrats are not scared of the subject and these continued mass shootings just bolster their followers. I'm sorry about all this.

So 18 year olds are too dumb to be able to be a responsible gun owner? Sounds like they shouldnt have the right to vote since that is an awful lot of responsibility. 21 for that too.

Can't put that genie back in the bottle. There was the chant "if you're old enough to fight, your old enough to vote". In fact I think it went all the way back to Nixon/Vietnam era (my memory, not going to check). And so the voting age was lowered. If I recall history properly one used to have to be a property owner and be male to vote. But at least for an old guy like me, there are times I think 18 YOs are too young to vote. But again, the genie ain't going back.

Fully 25% of the troops in S.E. Asia were 18 and at least half were 19. Funny how these civilian high hats throw weapons at kids that make an AR-15 look like a toy. And drill it into your head that this is your best and only real friend. Then would disarm you and tell you that you are too immature once the freedom bird hits the ground in SeaTac or where ever. I agree some of these drug store cowboys buying the AR-15 are doing so because it makes them feel tough although it is basically not much more potent than the first squirrel rifle I owned @ age 13. A .22 semi that held about 15-18 longs. Brother left for the service and left it for me. My mom could bake up sqirrel and gravy. But times change. Nut cases, drug abusers and sellers and misfits don't need guns so that is where the control needs focusing.

Probably the same in WW II. When they got back you probably had to get to 21 to vote. (confirmed. Had to be 21 to vote in WWII era.)

Not old enough if 21 is the age. Can't buy booze till you're 21. What if a 19 YO who lives in a bad area wants to get blasted to make the night go faster? Would be too young.

Who protects the constitution? Politicians? Those politicians asking for common sense gun control? Of the esteemed judiciary like the Ninth Circuit or temperate jurists like the honorable justices Stephen Breyer or Elena Kagan or the honorable and notorious RBG or perhaps Sonia Sotomayer. There is a thin black robe separating us from our current and future gun rights. So post your laughey face but you better be prepared or you will see gun rights as you know them gone.

I’d argue that falls under the 9th Amendment, and that Congress is doing an end-run around the 10th Amendment by denying funding to States that don’t follow their set age requirements.

Since I ma not reading 5 pages of what that twit says, and i do not care about the opinions of people responding to theses ideas.

Do not get suckered into this argument. There is no argument. My guns are mine, along with the ammunition. And i do not need the approval of anyone.
