Getting a large enough mass in orbit to be the center of mass for the whole structure. That's a lot of matter that needs to be up there to counter the weight of the cable, which means lots and lots of expensive rocket launches to get that material where it needs to be.
Making the cable. They have to have something that is increadibly strong to standup to micrometeorite collisions, intense radiation, precipitation, freeze/thaw cycles, intense temperature swings, lightening, solar flares, environmental pollution, insects, birds, space junk, winds, accidental plane crashes, terrorist attacks, and withstand the massive tension and compression forces it will be subjected to by the interplay of centripetal force and gravity. It also must be increadibly light weight or else the top of the space elevator becomes too massive and therefor too expensive and time intinsive to get into orbit. It's also covering a massive distance, so whatever advanced material is used, they will need a lot of it. We currently just can't produce carbon nanotubes in the needed lengths and volumes to make this feasible yet, but someday we will.

I don't know. They keep saying because it will bring down the whole government blah blah blah. They could at least arrest some of them now. I'm ok with waiting, but the fact that they said arrests were coming weeks ago and none have happened has made me very anxious and upset. Since nothing happened, I began to doubt the Anons and Trump. But now they're saying they need more time. So we will see? Beware the idea of March?

That's not to say she was doing a good thing. There are much better ways to go about such an effort, it is merely the cover they crafted to enable selling state secrets to foreign buyers and block and legal enforcement against it.

However, proving it is a bit more difficult. The reason why is because she used the server to leak some disinformation as part of intelligence ops as well. You can "justify" having genuine secrets (that she is selling) to make the server look legitimate as part of the op.
You can see why this case gets very hairy very quickly.
There can be no doubt that she is guilty as this is just another case in a long pattern of similar behavior (selling weapons tech to China for '96 campaign funding for example) but it is the kind of case that brings down the whole government if it goes forward.

Are you aware of the Clinton strategy of triangulation? They do more than try to find the middle ground on policy. Any position they take, they will leak opposition to it and have stories published to that effect.
For example, a Hillary supporter might believe she has always been an advocate of gay rights, but just couldn't say so before she did for political reasons. They intentionally craft this sort of dynamic so that their supporters can project their own values onto her, regardless of how close they are.
This has a lot to do with why symbolism is pervasive and important among the elites. Multiple interpretations allow for many-layered cons and few who actually know what is what.
