Hevrin Khalaf, the 35-year-old Future Syria Party’s Secretary-General who championed tolerance in Syria and worked to unite Christians, Arabs and Kurds, has been executed by a Turkish-backed group in northeast Syria, according to a human rights monitor. Various social media posts verified the initial report, along with the execution of nine other civilians throughout Tal Abyad, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Syrian Democratic Forces, who act as the political arm of the Kurds in the region, wrote that Khalaf was “taken out of her car during a Turkish-backed attack and executed by Turkish-backed mercenary factions”.

It's amazing how many of the groups belonging to the SDF are either outright Communists or revolutionary Socialists.

1. It’s a song lyric and posted tongue in cheek

2. People are murdered all over the globe every day. Why is this one specifically “news” to the US

3. It’s a song lyric and posted tongue in cheek

Look, nobody is happy about what is going on over there.
How long do you want our troops in syria and northern iraq?
We can stay over there for decades and as soon as we leave the shite will hit the fan.

This is a negative aspect of a tribalist mindset. Even if far disconnected from individuals such as another nation’s citizens, compassion and awareness for innocent lives lost is still important.

How many people will be shot and killed in Chicago this weekend?

We can do something about that.....and it's not 7,000 miles away.

Would you rather it say: "Private Phillips, from Iowa, was killed by a roadside bomb. He leaves behind two children and a wife."

I don't want them there. I'm with Trump on getting our troops out of there.

A Kurdish person of some renown was murdered by Syrian barbarians this week. I thought the story might be of interest to some people, especially in the context of the larger story of Christians being slaughtered in the Middle East over the past couple of decades.

Not sure much of anything coming out of Turkey or Syria at the moment has instant validity.

I"m sure that's true but this supposedly happened several days ago and it appears to have some outside verification

About as far away as Hong Kong . Are we going to stop the virtue signaling about human rights there as well?

Well that’s utterly ridiculous.

She might not be worth going to war over, but claiming that a political murder affects no one but the perpetrator is just down right dumb. I swear, the mental gymnastics some of y’all go through are absolutely astounding.
