A home birth isn't the same as "just leaving it be."

Some of the greatest, most important minds in History believe in that "magic" you snarkily dismiss.

Men and Women who created civilization, saved thousands of lives and contributed to the world at large and never spent one SECOND trying to be an edgy, dimissive shitlord on Social Media, yep, believed in Jesus.

WOW! What ludicrous and nonsensical assumptions (or accusations) you make about atheists!

Your conflating the message. Just to be clear, someone can be atheist l, but still possess a Christian framework or worldview (they will never admit this or acknowledge it, but it is where most of their morals and standards derive from) and someone else can certainly be a proclaimed Christian (like Jerry Falwell Jr)but have some serious issues with morals in their own personal life (and they will often not admit they are getting their morals from a humanistic or satanic worldview).

You are reading into what I am saying incorrectly. Not sure if that's intentional or not. But you are digging for something that just ain't there. But most of the values it sounds like you uphold, likely come from a Christian worldview. Where do you think morals come from?

There is no subjective "good" without a conscious and without a pre-defined trajectory. Without these, a comet colliding with the Earth is neither good nor bad. Rape, slavery, murder, abortion, suffering - all neutral.

This website needs a philosophy forum. Not that humanity hasn't discussed this issue for millennia at this point without arriving at a point of convergence, but I do think it would be fun to explore these issues at least a little in a more pure medium free from political baggage.

It'd be derailing the topic, but I'd respond that morality seems to me to have absolute components (what people tend to call "natural rights" seem to derive from these, at least to me) and subjective components that evolve with time (pedophilia wasn't considered a taboo to some ancient cultures). I'm not sure you can adhere to a purely subjective moral framework and not arrive at paradoxes. But that's for another thread, and hopefully another board eventually.

If they did would it be impossible for the baby to be born?

It would just be allowed to devolve.

Once upon a time, it was possible to have a reasonable political discussion on this forum. Now, it is just tRant for political topics.

Those were mostly Roman Catholics. I think he means evangelical Christians who actually study scripture and attempt to obey the teachings of Jesus. The medieval “Christians” did not seem intent on doing that, only seeking power and fortune.

No one has said that. Move off that point. I'm still hoping you'll understand why the cake joke isn't a good point for your argument.

It's Social Media, dumbass, it's not ....real...life.

Seek your validation in the real world, it's actually much, much more satisfying.

I used to enjoy the heck out of this board and its discussions, whether i agreed or disagreed.

It has fallen so much that I rarely even look at this board. Nothing but drive by sarcasm and same rehashed crap.

We need a philosophy board you with people of vastly differing opinions but that are champions of allowing good faith discourse in control of board access. The minute you issue an argument based in ad hominem or post explicitly inflammatory content, you get to come back to this playground.

It is almost impossible to have arguments on this board because the time it takes to devolve is usually the very next post .

Specifically, I've seen you post many things I either somewhat disagree with or think are a little off base, but I have no chance of getting a word in with you in the midst of the insults that get hurled your way. I really haven't gotten a chance to see what you truly believe on some topics or where we differ/could converge because nobody ever stops to engage anyone they disagree with, it just becomes slop.

You seem to have the warped view that one cannot have a serious and reasoned discussion on an online forum.

That view explains a lot of your behavior.

We could try. We could even start a thread and ask for only serious discussion.

People like Ooga would ruin it before the end of the first page, because the Admins coddle them. It is my opinion that some of the worst of them ARE admins. I could cite one specific, confirmed example, but it would get me a timeout.

It is what it is.

Then why don't you go to another Social Media site more attuned to your particular gifts?

There are TONS of them out there populated by geniuses like yourself.

You will give a cut and paste answer, but the real answer is you enjoy trolling the board.

You SEEK conflict and negative response because in your twisted, Narcissistic world view, it gives you validation because you are being attacked by "simpletons".

You are legitimately textbook Cluster B....
