I thought so too until I switched to iPhone. I'm never going back unless they just get so expensive I can't afford them, and I actually don't think they're going to go as high as this BS article speculates.

Androids are cranky and you have to root them to get them like you want them and it's becoming increasingly hard to root them. iPhones just work. Period.

So who's going to be the first to claim Trump is an Android fan, is investing heavily in Android stock and is just out to destroy apple? Lol

Totally agree, but the guy I quoted was talking unskilled and skilled people on the floor actually and actively working in the manufacturing process at the blue collar level, not in the offices supervising.

I know, I'm just saying I think we have some equal opportunity pain coming and those office supervisors aren't necessarily going to be exempt.

Different strokes for different folks. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things. Last android I had was the HTC 10 which wasn’t 20 years ago.

Hit market in 2016...exactly what I figured.

Android has over like 60 phones. Same operating system. Updates? Sure, the manufacturer has to handle.
IOS only operates on the 1 ONE device they force you to buy....over and over and over and over.

Crazy what you guys fall for. Letting someone force you to buy their hardware.

Jokes in your hand, pal

Like I said, different strokes for different folks, and closed ecosystem is no issue for me. I have no intention of criticizing Android users, I would appreciate reciprocity. It’s my money.

You’re a little slow on the uptake when it comes to irony or sarcasm, eh?

I’m calling bullshite on iPhone costing $550. I guarantee you they are making 65+ gross margin. Their COGS is around $380-$385.

A 50 margin is hydraulic valve margins.

Apple has a facility in Brazil to make iPhones. I would bet they increase production there is minimize tariffs and the price will stay the same. A lot of pearl clutching for nothing.

I seriously Lol'd at this statement. You responded to my extremely obvious sarcastic post that included a very obvious back handed compliment claiming I don't understand irony or sarcasm?

Be stronger.

I'm an engineer and I design things like the iPhone. The iPhone is probably the most automated assembly in existence. The components are pick and placed (0201 passives and BGAs - people can't do that), the assemblies are reflow soldered, washed, inspected (automated), tested (automated) and then placed into the case using specialized automated equipment. There may be a human that connects the battery connector and screws on the connector retainer, and maybe another that puts the earphones and booklet in the package, but that is about it. Chinese workers are paid about $15 per day, so that $30 assembly cost is mainly equipment amortization, unless you think there is 20 hours of labor per phone because the average Chinese work day is 10 to 12 hours.
