Not every use of military power is a foolish entanglement of our wealth and people. Their are many justified areas and reasons for American military power to be brought to bear. We are the primary economic powerhouse on the world stage and that status depends on the open navigation of the world's trade routes. For all the MIC! MIC! spouting NPC's on here, let me remind you that raising and maintaining a military is one of the few things the federal government is constitutionally authorized to actually do. I get the feeling that a lot of the opposition to military spending on this board is really America Last types couching their hatred of the USA in some kind of populist wrapping.

While I'm not opposed to bombing assholes, they're primarily driving up the costs of essential goods for Europe and Asia. I'd prefer to see the European and Asian militaries doing the lion's share of the bombing.
