It's like you people are purposely ignoring the part where he tried to evade them, turned around, was hit by the vehicle, was trapped between two vehicles and had a gun already drawn on him.
Hard to say he is the aggressor here.

No, they brought guns because the son had caught the thief on that property two-ish weeks prior, and the thief reached into his waist band and threatened the son and the son left.
In their mind the thief was armed.
So it wasn't only about him potentially stealing, they thought he was a threat.
That fact should have been enough to keep their asses home, but that's why they were armed.
